tt24··on Utah charges Kalshi and its CEO with illegally promoting online gambling
No idea. I don’t think I need a solution to this in order to advocate for organ markets, which would resolve a far more pressing concern

Oh I’m laughing at it now, no need to wait for hindsight

I’ll take this solvable problem in exchange for the current state of things

> Most Americans—including a commanding majority of medical experts—wouldn’t.

That’s… fine? I don’t mind most Americans disagreeing with me, that doesn’t offend me at all :)

> We weren’t discussing the “problem of there not being enough organs,” but that of whether such a market could be an effective anti-poverty tool.

I’m okay conceding this point. I don’t care whether it relieves poverty or not. That’s not the goal here

> In exchange you create a monetary incentive for donors to lie about disease status and drug use.

I’ll take this solvable problem in exchange for the much more complex problem of there not being enough organs to go around

tt24··on How Amazon pushes up prices all across the Internet
Americans generally hold SPY which makes them Amazon shareholders.
tt24··on How Amazon pushes up prices all across the Internet
They can by choosing to not sell on Amazon.
tt24··on How Amazon pushes up prices all across the Internet
It’s funny to me that people look at the wild runaway success of the American experiment and conclude that it needs more cronyism like every other country.

Please feel free to implement whatever unfavorable policies you like in your own nations. You are welcome to further drive down your GDP per capita if you’d like. That’s not what the US is though.

tt24··on Amazon pushes up prices across the Internet
This is not even remotely a response to the question asked by the comment you’re replying to.
tt24··on How Amazon pushes up prices all across the Internet
In what way is it monopolistic? Amazon has many competitors
tt24··on Visa, Mastercard, major banks facing new litigation over 'anticompetitive' fees
None of this is a response to what I said.
tt24··on Visa, Mastercard, major banks facing new litigation over 'anticompetitive' fees
Why would we help whichever side is larger?

The current status quo is a result of free association. If people prefer to have credit card debt or use rewards programs poorly then I have no issue with continuing in this manner.

tt24··on Visa, Mastercard, major banks facing new litigation over 'anticompetitive' fees
I like rewards programs and disagree that it would be a win. Your suggestion puts me in an objectively worse position.
tt24··on California closed the Montana license plate loophole
It’s actually negatively correlated with income lol. Rich people commit way fewer crimes

tt24··on Meta Uses A.I. Data Centers to Avoid Billions in Federal Taxes
Yes, I’d prefer a regressive tax system.
tt24··on Meta Uses A.I. Data Centers to Avoid Billions in Federal Taxes
Don’t worry, you won’t be getting any of that money. It’ll be going in entirety to the utility monster (bottom quintile)
tt24··on Updated Google Maps shows destruction of the city of Rafah
So if we stopped sending money to Israel you’d stop talking about Israel and Gaza forever?

This idea that people only care about Israel because we support them with our tax dollars is such a joke

tt24··on When did Google get so weird?
You don’t have to tell me twice!
tt24··on When did Google get so weird?
Oh this is an easy one, because I care about Ukraine more than I care about a million other conflicts that may be happening in the world at the moment.

I think you’ll find that this is the case for everyone - people care about their 2 or 3 pet things and pay little attention to the distractions.
