turlando··on Maxima (Software)
Unfortunately my experience is that Maxima is unable to get even simple integrations right.

If I remember correctly the state of the documentation was subpar too.

turlando··on Pidgin – A Universal Chat Client
When XMPP was quite widespread and lots of my friends used it Pidgin was my trusted software. I'm very happy it's still being maintained and to see lots of plugin for new IM protocols/services (Telegram for instance).

It's a pity that the font on the new website is too thin for me and very hard to read :\

turlando··on Ask HN: Is an ARM-based laptop a viable development machine for a Backend dev?
I wouldn't recommend any Thinkpad of the xx40 series because of the dreadful trackpad/clickpad. It might not be a dealbreaker for you but it's indeed a downside to consider given how unusable it is. A lot of people actually replace it with a xx50 trackpad.
turlando··on Reasons Python Sucks
>The Python manual says that you can use any number of spaces or tabs for defining the scope.

But it doesn't. In Python only modules, classes and functions make a new scope. A block doesn't. (And that's because it "forces" you to write small self-contained functions.)

It's funny that he also links to a documentation page that clearly doesn't talk about scope at all.

Personal reflection: I rarely rant publicly about something, but when I do I make sure that I'm not saying something stupid that a quick google search can refute.
