To put in a perspective it’s the weight of a new iPhone duo.

15% weight reduction over previous gen macbook pro is great.

What if English is not your first language and you are afraid of sounding silly when you email or text someone?

I love cursor. The inspect tool in cursor is a game changer for UI work imo.

If you meet someone this often to touch your phones, why do you even need to have an app to talk to that person? The beauty of social apps is that I can talk to someone who I can’t physically meet that often

> And they even suck at making cars these days

Aren’t model Y and model 3 considered the best cars in their class by most motor journalists?

Wouldn’t that increase the ad spend? You will need to show more ads to find your target audience

Lg has a similar model: https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-ultrafineevo-32-6k-nano-i...

I would rather support a solo developer than a faceless corporation. Also Datagrip is $133/year for most use cases

I actually like the icons from his example of Google Docs, it makes it easy for me to locate an action type I’m looking for (add/delete etc) without reading the labels, then once I narrowed it down - I can read the label to find the precise action I want.

You can use preview on a Mac to sign them

RIP to your history log in the browser.

There was a checkbox about letting 23andme use your dna in research, I wonder if that will be forced to be respected by regeneron after a sale?

it looks like the robot tripped at the barricades and balanced itself.

> For reference the USPS delivers over 100B, yes billion, parcels per year.

90% of my mail lately is spam coupons and credit card offers.

I like controls in the upcoming Rivian cars, it's basically changing the physical feedback based on what you are selecting [1]

> replaced it with another plugin that broke people's websites

What makes you think it broke someone’s website? AFAIK they just patched the security issue that wp engine team couldn’t patch because they were locked out from pushing to repo?

Hmm, why was this removed from a homepage?

I just tried it, has some bugs and feels unpolished, but it works for Jetbrains, which is a game changer for me too

I think it also applies to when managers try to overoptimize work process, in the end creative people lose interest and work becomes unbearable...little chaos is necessary in a work place/life imo...

> There is a dispute between Automattic and WPEngine

I think the dispute is in fact between the org and wpengine.

Wpengine doesn’t contribute to the core as much as they promised, and prohibits their employees to do so.

It looks like people here are missing the context of the source of the issue between Matt and WP engine. Couple days ago he posted on X that wpengine has similar revenue to automattic, yet doesn’t contribute back to open source as much as they promised to (5 hour per week per employee or something like that). A wpengine employee replied to a post saying that management doesn’t allow them to contribute to Wordpress open source because it doesn’t align with KPI targets. That employee got fired the next day. That’s when Matt’s issue with wpengine escalated.

He mentioned during the talk that he made multiple attempts to resolve this in private but the other side wasn’t interested in hearing him, he also said he did not want to do this presentation

Problem with this imo is that AI companion will never tell you that what you are doing/thinking is not acceptable in a society, like how your friend or any other person you interact with would, because with real relationship it’s a two way street.

This may create a bunch of people who are even more distant from the social interaction than they were in a beginning

That's what I thought too, but you actually don't have to do the face ID when it's next to NFC reader. You double click the side button, while looking at the phone - it lets you choose which card you want to use for the payment, ONLY THEN you tap the phone to the NFC range, you don't need to look at the phone anymore after you unlocked it with a double click.

How is using face id for payments not a fluid motion? Double click on the side button and it’s ON to make payments, no need to do anything else. While on Touch ID you have to first initiate the payment and then unlock with a finger (2 steps)?

I love how ridiculous the scene to showcase Apple's Intelligence ability to tell you what bread the dog was.

Instead of simply asking a women what breed her dog was - he had to open a camera app on his iPhone, ask a women a permission to take a photo of the dog, wait until the AI gives him an answer...

Reminds me of Microsoft calculator having a one pixel off between buttons: https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/a5r971/t...

> It is hoped the drug — which is not a cure but will make the condition much less painful for sufferers

> It works by blocking a compound that supports the nerve cells involved in transmitting pain signals to the brain.

Unfortunately it doesn't fix the underlying issue.

the only thing I like in Google maps more than Apple Maps is reviews. Yelp integration in Apple is annoying as it asks me to open an app to view photos from a place.
