v1vek··on Deploy Gemma 7B with TensorRT-LLM and achieve > 500 tok/s
This is great - taking scalability to the next level
v1vek··on Launch HN: Signadot (YC W20) – Lightweight Test Environments for Microservices
Congratulations Arjun & Anirudh!

Exited to see tools for testing microservices early in the development lifecycle.

Wish you best of luck.

v1vek··on My First Impressions of Web3
No you can't - the social graph is private.
v1vek··on What's it take to make a chip with over a million Josephson junctions?
Quantum computing is fascinating, but this news is not as as big a leap as the article suggests. Dwave quantum annealing which is much noisier than stable quantum structures (universal quantum computers) being worked on by IBM which are more likely to solve today’s problem with quantum circuits.

This almost doubles their current systems so ️

history has been with the valley (so far ...)
v1vek··on HIV Is Reported Cured in a Second Patient
I have read most, but not all of his work but did't know that's how he died.

I wasn't old enough in the 90s to understand HIV/AIDS completely but remember it being a death sentence (I remember a rumor that you could get it by using public toilets)

v1vek··on Inside China’s Dystopian Dreams: A.I., Shame and Lots of Cameras
Google wasn't responsible for any of the major breakthroughs in AI. The current AI boom is driven by deep learning[1], due to Alex Krizhevsky [2][3], who was then a Ph.D. student @ University of Toronto. Subsequently, several significant breakthroughs have been in Universities & outside Google or FAANGs (Siri, DeepMind were all questions)

War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength
v1vek··on Lyft is testing monthly subscriptions for riders
Given that I am planning to use Uber/Lyft for the commute - this seems great. My monthly parking costs are already $325 per month and given that my one-way commute using uber costs 20 - 25 this is what I need to stop driving.

So how do I get an invite for this ?

v1vek··on Startup Investor School
I was notified about investor school from y-combinator's channel on youtube and ended up binge watching.

As somebody who has been trying to break into angel investing, I found the startup investor school invaluable. It was great to learn from some of the top names in the field, and I hope to be at the next investor school.

v1vek··on It’s Tough Being Over 40 in Silicon Valley
Understandable, but this is the bias does end up causing unintended age discrimination.
v1vek··on List of resources to learn deep learning
I created this list during my paternity leave when I was making the transition from using other ML tools to deep learning. Over the last year, several of my colleagues/friends have used this list and have started using Deep Neural Networks for various applications.

My goal for sharing this list was to inspire more people to learn and not be scared of this new tool. Getting started has never been easier.

@julien421 Thanks for posting on HN.
