vahidce··on QBasic in the Browser
a compiler (written in TypeScript) converts the .BAS into bytecode which is then executed by a virtual machine. I plan to release it as open source soon.
vahidce··on I made a tiny 2 MB screenshot tool for Windows (open source)
Working with LLMs, I've been taking more screenshots than in my entire life combined so far! I wanted a fast, handy screenshot and annotation tool for Windows, so I decided to write one. One thing led to another and it became a really nice screenshot tool, so I want to share it and open source it.

It is very lightweight (a single 2.3 MB exe) but it punches above its weight:

- capture a region, a window, or a single control (hold Ctrl) - arrows, shapes, text, numbered steps - mosaic / blackout to hide sensitive stuff - record a GIF, trim it, change the speed - shortcuts for almost everything

It's C# with NativeAOT and raw Win32, no WPF/WinForms, and no network calls.

I'm actively using it myself, so if you find any issues or have ideas, share them. The main idea is to keep it lean and fast, not bloated.

vahidce··on QBasic in the Browser
QBasic was where a lot of us wrote our first code. I wanted that blue screen back, so I rebuilt QBasic 1.1 from scratch to run in the browser. Open a .BAS file from 1994 and it just runs: the graphics, the PLAY music, even the speed. I checked it against thousands of real programs running in DOSBox. No install or sign-up needed. My hobby these days is asking Claude to generate complex QBasic programs and then running them in QBasic. You can find them in gallery.

Thank you for your feedback and sorry for late reply. I have been busy with multiple other projects for the past week. Yes you are right. I will fix it in next iteration. It is really hard to have 100% fidelity.

Thank you for the feedback! I just tried on two iPhone and Android phones and it brought up the keyboard.
