validuser··on Automatic1111's GitHub account suspended for "ToS violations" [restored]
It's runined by professional victims. The bigots would have no voice without their victims' amplification.
validuser··on OP-1 field
It's a groovebox - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groovebox
validuser··on The smallest 256x256 single-color PNG file, and where you've seen it (2015)
Why use an image at all when css background-color exists?
validuser··on Anne Frank betrayal book pulled after findings discredited
That was sarcasm, right?
validuser··on Lab Leak 2.0?
There's an infinite number of possible viruses. Inventing some random new ones doesn't protect anyone.
validuser··on Freesound: Repository of more than 500k CC licensed sounds and effects samples
There's no audio in MIDI - midi is like a machine readable sheet of notes.
validuser··on MicroStudio now supports microScript, Python, JavaScript and Lua
it's got this css:

    html,body {
        user-select: none;

Keep your keys in a faraday cage.

validuser··on Show HN: A social platform with music in focus. Download the app
"Download the app"? No.
validuser··on Woman Is Sentenced to 43 Years for Criticizing Thai Monarchy
s/no right/the right?
validuser··on Noise-canceling headphones without the headphone
To me, it seems pretty obvious this can't work. The cancelling signal from your seat will have to be cancelled by all the other seats and vice versa, creating a feedback loop.
validuser··on SolarWinds’ shares drop 22 per cent. But what’s this? $286M in stock sales
His trade was another pretty obvious inside trade (timed the announcement of their successful trials with the scheduled sale)
validuser··on Cloudflare, Google, Bing Destroying the Infrastructure of the Free Web

validuser··on Jacksonpollock.org (2003)
Does it redraw the entire thing every frame? It seems to get slower the longer you draw.
validuser··on Low-dose Hydroxychloroquine Therapy and Mortality in Hospitalized Patients
1. Not a low dose (400mg/week should be enough from what I've read)

2. No mention of zinc supplements, which seems to be the key to make the Hydroxychloroquine effective

validuser··on WorldBrain's Memex: Bookmarking for the power users of the web
Many sites have horribly broken/nonexistent print styling. Any tips on how to get good prints matching what you see in the browser?
validuser··on How to manage HTML DOM with vanilla JavaScript only?
http://youmightnotneedjquery.com/#ajax
validuser··on Zoom needs to clean up its privacy act
Why would your collaborators have to install any software to use Jitsi? (It should work in a browser AFAIK)
validuser··on New MacBook Air
I'm still using my 2012 macbook pro and doubt I will buy Apple's new Impossible to repair™ "Gree[nd]™" machines when it finally dies.
validuser··on Concentrichron: A clock and calendar made of concentric rings
I made this, which should be fairly easy to tweak to your desired look (the svg is generated by the script): https://jsfiddle.net/4e6kw8Ls/ (click to toggle zoom)
validuser··on Why aren't more women airline pilots?
All my female captains had baritone voices.
validuser··on Latency Map of all the major backbones
How do they measure this? (They have different latency between the same nodes depending on direction)
validuser··on The World As I See It - An Essay by Einstein
> This topic brings me to that worst outcrop of the herd nature, the military system, which I abhor. That a man can take pleasure in marching in formation to the strains of a band is enough to make me despise him. He has only been given his big brain by mistake; a backbone was all he needed. This plague-spot of civilization ought to be abolished with all possible speed. Heroism by order, senseless violence, and all the pestilent nonsense that does by the name of patriotism--how I hate them! War seems to me a mean, contemptible thing: I would rather be hacked in pieces than take part in such an abominable business. And yet so high, in spite of everything, is my opinion of the human race that I believe this bogey would have disappeared long ago, had the sound sense of the nations not been systematically corrupted by commercial and political interests acting through the schools and the Press.
