vccafe··on It's official – Generative AI reached peak hype according to Gartner Hype Cycle
But it's also worth noting that peak hype doesn't mean the potential of these technologies isn't real - as I write in my blog post on the topic https://www.vccafe.com/2023/08/16/now-its-official-gartner-c...

For example: in consumer subscription models, keeping over 50% of revenue after 1 year puts you in the top quartile. For B2B SaaS, conversion from trial to paying customer needs to be at least 7% to reach the industry benchmark. More in the post.

vccafe··on Startup Benchmarks
Interestingly, I didn't find a handy list... here are a few US funds focused on Deep tech DCVC - https://www.dcvc.com/ ARCH Ventures - https://www.archventure.com/ Defy Ventures - defy.vc Eclipse Ventures - eclipse.vc Grit Ventures - https://gritventures.com/

I tend to agree with you. Even though there are specialist funds in deep tech, the available capital is less than traditional SaaS. The cycles are longer in deep tech, and require a bit more 'patient capital. That said, deep tech startups know to access a range of subsidies and grants that are equity free in a way that more traditional startups don't.

vccafe··on Ask HN: Creating passive income online - myth or doable?
Just to qualify this further - what if you're not selling a service on top of your blog? (i.e. design services in your case) - could you still create a labor of love, like a blog and pay rent with the cash it generates? how?
