vfclists··on Brazilian Court Sanctions Lawyers for Prompt Injection in Court Filing
If the Brazilian judicial system had any integrity the proper thing would be to disbar those lawyers and their law firms permanently, not fine them, unless said judicial system is more interested in earning money from fines rather justice.

vfclists··on Germany's far-right AfD: half a million internal documents leaked
I don't suppose you are aware that Trump won the Presidential election despite his open racism, the ongoing criminal prosecutions against him, and his sympathy for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, soft touch on Israel's genocide and his harsh ICE-led anti-immgration policies.

This is a man who openly stated that you could grab women by the crotch yet won the votes of a significant amount of women, twice.

If you have any intelligence you will never underestimate right-wingers sense of victimhood, grievance and feeling that they are the poor, oppressed, ignored downtrodden people who need to rise and fight against "The Powers That Be" and the sympathy that engenders in others.

If these "hexane.cc" guys have any sense they should do the same for the other parties, who I'm sure have documents and communications that will be as equally embarrassing and let the voters judge.

Cloudflare has put up a notice saying that the site is suspected of phishing, but doesn't block access to it. The site has been reported as some kind of phishing site, someone clearly doesn't it.

The issue of sites like this is their one-sided nature. If they are going to be fair then they should dump the archives of all the other parties, then AfD supporters will not be able to claim that they are being set upon.

Acts like these have the ability to create sympathy and dislike in equal measure for their targets.

Perhaps the Davincified spokesperson is also an AI generated "person"?

Why do HN comments which are of little or no relevance to topic always rise to the top of the comments list?

Are there some kind of commenting rings or voting rings involved in the phenomenon?

I mean what has FDIC deposit insurance got to do with some bankrupt or dissolved company depriving customers of their data?

It makes HN virtually useless as a means of assessing the opinions around the actual topic.

Perhaps HN should use some kind of AI analysis to mark which comment threads which are on topic and enable to be sorted accordingly.

vfclists··on Taxpayers Funded a $533M Artillery Plant That Made Nothing
Oh dear it is the Russians again. They are to blame for everything.

Are they to blame for the US Army's acquiescence to Repkon's refusal to allow them to see production lines in operation, or are Repkon manufacturing artillery shells for Russia too?

vfclists··on Taxpayers Funded a $533M Artillery Plant That Made Nothing
War is a racket. Under the Trump administration it is an even bigger racket.

"Repkon said other countries were using the machines to produce the older model. But the Army and General Dynamics could not inspect those active production lines, Repkon told them, citing customer privacy."

Can you believe this? Both the US Army and General Dynamics paying 100s of millions to a subcontractor whose production lines they are not allowed to inspect "citing customer privacy"?

Even your supermarket chain is able to inspect their subcontractors production lines producing their in house brands and the US Army can't?

I guess the "kon" in Repkon says it all, ie their "Rep"utation is a "Kon".

America's military is doomed.

Heard the news about sailors on the Abraham Lincoln rioting with 7 dead because of the shithole conditions on the carrier?

vfclists··on PeerTube is a free, decentralized and federated video platform

vfclists··on Global review confirms mRNA vaccines are safe, effective and full of promise
Bruh??
vfclists··on Global review confirms mRNA vaccines are safe, effective and full of promise
We synthesise evidence on vaccine components, manufacturing quality controls, and regulatory standards that underpin safety, alongside data from randomised trials, post-authorisation surveillance, and active pharmacovigilance systems.

"synthesize???"

With almost 200 references and the use of "synthesize???" it sound like AI generated slop.

The article is behind a paywall in any case so why so many positive comments about it?

vfclists··on Global review confirms mRNA vaccines are safe, effective and full of promise

vfclists··on AMD silently removes memory encryption from consumer Ryzen CPUs
> A feature that was possibly accidentally enabled on consumer chips is now being disabled.

Bro what are you smoking? The highly paid and experienced engineers designing these chips could have "possibly enabled" the feature on consumer chips.

The chips were designed with the feature as it is cheaper to do everything right from the get go and disable functionality rather than design a less capable chip then tack on the feature afterwards, just as the consumer versions of Windows are the server versions with functionality removed.

vfclists··on Amazon CEO's talks with U.S. officials triggered crackdown on Anthropic models
Why has HN become utterly useless as a place where meaningful discussions can be held?

A response concerning the model being prompted for information that could be used to aid cyberattaks ie - "Are there going to be bans on things that could be used to aid in school shootings next?" floats right to the top of the comment listings and the responses are quite irrelevant.

What is it with this place?

In the past I came to see what the comments about the articles were is hoping they would share more light on the topic. Right now they are totally meaningless.

vfclists··on FCC wants to kill burner phones by forcing telecoms to get all customers' IDs
It was only a matter of time.

The real issue is whether government's should have the right to metadata or the content of remote communications.

Government's don't claim the right to monitor face to face communications so why should they have the right to do so for remote communications.

vfclists··on Growing tribe of jobless techies is stuck in Silicon Valley's new reality

vfclists··on Tesla's lithium refinery discharges 231,000 gallons of polluted wastewater a day
Trying to boost numbers by using units people can't picture or comprehend is not very useful.

231000 gallons is 1000 cubic meters, ie a 10 metre cube.

Perhaps the number of olympic size swimming pools of a standardized depth may be more useful. Perhaps the number of 3m deep Olympic sized swimming pools or gas/oil storage tanks.

vfclists··on Linux security mailing list 'almost unmanageable'
Because ther don't have to keep switching from discussion client to discussion client or whatever tools the use for each project they are involved with, at the same time being distracted by adverts, geegaws, random emojis and other kinds of nonsense.

They are simply more efficient and more importantly censoring is done by the user themselves, not by politically motivated admins who ban discussions based on their ideologies and whims.

vfclists··on Fecal transplants for autism deliver success in clinical trials
I find this interesting because my first awareness of a link between gastrointestinal problems and autism was in the retracted so labelled "fraud" paper by Andrew Wakefield et al in 1998 which noted a link between gastrointestinal disease and autism in the subjects of the study.

In fact it is the subject of the paper, not the MMR vaccine which was the cause of the "controversy".
