warthog··on Art: Keep using Arc after shutdown
Arc Browser (my browser for 5-6 years straight) shuts down soon with basically no similar alternatives offering the same UX. There are many Chromium forks out there but they mostly keep adding AI to a browser that does not need it (in Dia, you cannot even turn off AI) or are buggy with bad UX.

So directed a bunch of agents into Arc to try and copy Arc as a seperate app locally, blocking Browser Company servers and cloud storage.

It copies the Arc.app you have on Mac and your Arc data into ~/Applications/ArtBrowser.app. There is a small launcher and an inject library turning off sync and updates blocking requests from BrowserCo. Your original Arc is not changed. The repo has no Arc code or binaries.

URL: https://github.com/mertdeveci5/artbrowser

curl -fsSL https://arcreborn.cool.computer/install-artbrowser.sh | bash. Read the script first if you like. It's plain text, it uploads nothing, and the only thing it downloads is the 1.9 MB launcher, checked against a SHA-256 in the script. --uninstall removes it again.

If anything is off, not secure or not working, feel free to make contributions!

warthog··on Ask HN: What are you reading?
More Money than God

Tells individual stories of hedge funds and their founders such as Simmon, Tudor-Jones, Soros and more

Great lessons in how each thought about markets, how they lost and made money

warthog··on Making Things to Make Them
seems like it - though michelin starrted restaurants regularly do this i think - this one was not a luxury one though so he must have gotten the idea
warthog··on Hetzner Experiments Platform: Inference API
Kind of weird that it is launched as "Experiments" platform and inference is the only experiment. Wish they had made up their minds about launching this and launched it as a alpha version or smt
warthog··on Show HN: MoneyCo – A coding agent built for accounting
feel free to email me at mert@thecompany.money
warthog··on Launch HN: Prized (YC S26) – Let non-engineer staff build secure internal tools
I did build a very similar product putting emphasis on integrations and security. It was tough to churn anyone out from Replit, Lovable and then CC and Codex.

When I talked to Lovable team, they told me Lovable is used primarily for prototyping, not internal tools and they are having a rough time trying to change the use case.

Hope my experience helps!

warthog··on Late.sh – a command-line Clubhouse for computer people
this is amazing, great idea
warthog··on Show HN: Extend UI – open-source UI kit for modern document apps
really like these - curious how the xlsx editor and viewer is built in that what kind of headless spreadsheet?

could not have been easy

warthog··on Show HN: Unsiloed AI – #1 on olmOCR-Bench
website has no self serve sign up
warthog··on Gemini 3.5 Flash
GPT-5.5 on the benchmarks still seem to perform better than this

Plus the vibe of the gemini models are so weird particularly when it comes to tool calling

At this point I kinda need them to shock me to make the switch

warthog··on Muse Spark: Scaling towards personal superintelligence
Hoping the benchmarks are correct this time...
warthog··on Show HN: I built a self-hosted Fly.io engine using Go and Firecracker
is this something like sprites?
warthog··on Show HN: cmux - Ghostty-based terminal with vertical tabs and notifications
vertical tabs are a great idea for ghostty!
warthog··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (February 2026)
https://banker.so/ - Retool alternative through vibecoding

- Building a Retool/Looker alternative for internal tools so non-technical teams can build their own without creating busywork for engineers. - Works like Lovable/Replit with two differences: Got 3,000 integrations out of the box through Pipedream SDK and got access controls in place with embedded auth, backend (django) and database

warthog··on AI Code Sandbox Provider Benchmarking
Analysis done with Claude Code and then Codex to verify. Each agent was given API keys in free tiers to play around and test the sandboxes for various things.
warthog··on Ask HN: Share your personal website
https://mertdev.dev/
warthog··on Show HN: Mantic.sh – A structural code search engine for AI agents
Can you explain how you achieve this in more detail? Did not see any in-detail explanation in the readme in repo
warthog··on Tell HN: Happy New Year
Had a pretty bad year. Hoping 2026 will be way better! Happy new year everybody
warthog··on Ask HN: Resources to get better at outbound sales?
There was an old legendary HN comment around the following concept:

"All things being equal, people buy from their friends. So just make more friends"

If you are confident of your services, just make more friends. Talk to people more. If it is too salesly already, you lost the conversation. Instead try and learn about their lives. I sometimes even open up with "No agenda to sell, genuinely curious"

warthog··on Claude Code Wrapped
Traditionally the time of the year for Spotify Wrapped variations! Coded with Claude Code.

Run `uvx claude-code-wrapped` or `npx claude-code-wrapped`

warthog··on Launch HN: Kenobi (YC W22) – Personalize your website for every visitor
Tried a couple times but it failed
warthog··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (December 2025)
Banker.so | Computer inside a computer inside an agent

Started this out by building a spreadsheet controlled by an LLM. Now putting a direct filesystem inside, simplified enough to have programmatic control of slide builders, spreadsheets, terminals and vibecoding applications

warthog··on Show HN: Yolodex – real-time customer enrichment API
what would be the difference of this vs using an API like Apollo?
warthog··on Multimodal Diffusion Language Models for Thinking-Aware Editing and Generation
This looks awesome. Although from a UX perspective might not be as good as streaming token by token for text generation use cases. However for image gen and editing - 100%
warthog··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (Nov 2025)
Built an in-browser AI managed spreadsheet. https://banker.so/

Too many things I wanted to analyse went to nothing because I was too lazy to fetch information and the put it inside a spreadsheet cell by cell. So I developed this to help me extract docs into spreadsheets while also having access to the web.

Now working on a vibe-coded version of it where instead of showing a spreadsheet, it will be able to generate data-focused tiles and apps

warthog··on Claude for Excel
Actually just wrote about this: https://aimode.substack.com/p/openai-is-below-above-and-arou...

not sure if it binary like that but as startups we will probably collect the scraps leftover indeed instead

warthog··on Claude for Excel
Tough day to be an AI Excel add-in startup
warthog··on Show HN: Recall: Give Claude memory with Redis-backed persistent context
yep hit me up
warthog··on "Fuck You" Companies
sorry to hear that. curious if the product's approach was a fuck you to Workday though as in you can't even put them side by side and compare (they are so different) or if it was simply that Workday sucks, we will do better
warthog··on "Fuck You" Companies
Paul Graham also has a good way to frame this which perhaps I should have touched upon.

"A principle for taking advantage of thresholds has to include a test to ensure the game is worth playing. Here's one that does: if you come across something that's mediocre yet still popular, it could be a good idea to replace it. For example, if a company makes a product that people dislike yet still buy, then presumably they'd buy a better alternative if you made one."
