weird-eye-issue··on Claude Code sends your email address to websites
I'm sorry that I'm disputing their totally scientific "timescale". Btw did you mean timeline?

It can take a while for spammers to get your address on their list. Generally the amount of spam over time only goes up. Just because there's a correlation doesn't mean there is a causation. Anyone with an email address, including on a custom work domain, has experienced this and Claude wasn't responsible for all email spam lol

I highly doubt this is connected

Usually this is from LinkedIn, GitHub, etc scraping... There are databases where they just guess and verify emails too

Yes it thinks about it and then calls the image tool with the detailed prompt with exactly what to include in the image

> Simpler: they do. A quarter to a third of cases between '21 and '26 resulted in customer awards, per your source.

Right, only a quarter, and that is just any award, it could be 10% of what they lost

The number seems very small compared to the sheer number of retail investors that lose money on options and a lot of these don't even go in favor of the complaintant either.

Just to clarify I'm not talking about somebody doing some sort of complex options play that ends them up in debt when they are 17 years old or something like that.

I'm talking about the average case where somebody signs up for a brokerage account, funds the account, accepts the disclaimers and fills out the questionnaire to do options, is approved for level one, buys some call options, and they all go to zero. Why should they get their money back?

FINRA statistics, common sense, and real world experience with options trading
weird-eye-issue··on Kalshi and its co-founders face felony charges for violating Utah gambling laws
If you answered the options questionnaire and placed the trades yourself, you have essentially no case. So in reality what you are saying is not really true for 99.9% of people that lose money on options

And even in the extreme case that you did file a claim and you were awarded damages it would probably be only for a fraction of what you lost

weird-eye-issue··on Kalshi and its co-founders face felony charges for violating Utah gambling laws
That's not really true. It's very easy to start trading options and lose all of your money overnight. There would be no recourse

What?

weird-eye-issue··on Life with Down Syndrome
> a word for a person with a learning disability (= a condition that can have an effect on someone's ability to learn easily), which was used by doctors in the past but is now extremely offensive

Yes, in that context it's offensive, I agree. But when people use that as a slur with something without a learning disability they aren't literally talking about or referring to a learning disability so it's a different context

Sorry, but is this a joke?

That doesn't really help anything and just makes the exploit impact even worse since it would be effectively a denial of service

That's what you are doing, congratulations

weird-eye-issue··on Trigger.dev customer environment variables exposed
That doesn't even make sense. People use environment variables to store things like API keys for third-party services. How do you expect them to magically rotate or decommission those keys?
weird-eye-issue··on Trigger.dev customer environment variables exposed
In your analogy they can't pump the water out. Now it's up to their users to rotate their keys. How do you expect them to do that sort of thing on behalf of their users?
weird-eye-issue··on Trigger.dev customer environment variables exposed
I assume it's fixed based on it being marked resolved and from what was communicated. Yeah I agree it's a major issue but if it's fixed what they have done so far seems totally fine

Okay so let's just say you are one of those affected users

The founder of the company has already emailed you with details and their support team is around for you to ask any follow-up questions. Also the bug/exploit has been fully fixed

At this point are you saying you would actually be upset and leave because the incident on their status page has been marked as resolved?

weird-eye-issue··on Trigger.dev customer environment variables exposed
So the active incident is now fixed and they've already reached out to impacted customers but they can't mark it as resolved yet because they are still yet to publish a more detailed blog post?
weird-eye-issue··on Trigger.dev customer environment variables exposed
If they fixed the exploit then what do you want them to do? Do they need to wait an arbitrary amount of time before setting it to resolved?
weird-eye-issue··on OccupySaaS
I never use customer support for these types of things unless there is a literal bug or downtime

I don't want to pay for customer support that other incompetent users rely on to function

What did they get wrong? It is natural to have biases. In fact it's necessary to even operate on a day-to-day basis. When you wake up in the morning there's an infinite number of possibilities. It's your past experiences and biases that decide each of your actions going forward.

Okay maybe in 2010 you could use a CPU but even by 2012 it was entirely dominated by GPUs and I think even dedicated hardware was coming out around that time or soon after
