Yeah Apple needs to fix this by either making Xcode Cloud better, make more Mac minis (or just dedicated server hardware), or even loosening the two-VM limit. This kind of thing is bad for the average consumer and just plain wasteful.
I disagree to an extent. A person did will this into existence and found the results interesting. People should be curious and share what they find! But, they need to present the things they find in a way that makes sense to them and others. Otherwise it's just sloppy.
When you present data to real life human beings you need to make your visualizations clearer. The map is OK, but literally everything else is nonsensical to me. Please take this as constructive feedback, because you can make something very cool with this data.
As slow as it may be to adopt, it's a welcome change to how people should do research. Why induce suffering on an animal when the potential for failure and or miscalculation is so high? It seems from the article a model/chip can be more insightful on how something will affect humans.
This data all stored in OpenStreetMap via DeFlock and other apps. One thing that should be said is that anyone can plot a camera via these apps whether or not one is actually there or not. I know that OSM community has been dealing with a lot Flock related vandalism because of these apps.
My great uncle played in this game (William "Buck" Myers), as nonsensical as it was. If anyone has anymore information about this it would very beneficial. Thank you!
I'll speak not as a professional gamedev, but a hobbiest. I enjoy offloading a lot of the work to LLMs because that's what a game engine did anyway in the before times. A lot of core logic in computer graphics, user input, dialog systems, etc... are incredibly tedious to build and have been built a thousand times over.
Very cool! You should drop the "THE PARK’S CURRENT LOOK" section and expand "Spotted on the sidewalk" to take up the full page with more people if you can. Maybe take a look at Traffic Camera Photobooth (https://trafficcamphotobooth.com/) for clear feeds that can spot outfits.
Really good analysis and storytelling. I wonder what the distribution looks like for joke/troll contributions on OSM and what nations or places get vandalized the most?
I think his argument is more "Could the AI solution to the prompt be somehow misaligned by exploiting a weakness in the trial process?" So an AI agent could game (lack of a better word) the process and produce something that may cure cancer, but misses something else.
Also, a large percentage of Americans were against a vaccine for COVID (which is dumb obvisouly)... so, it's not crazy to imagine people rejecting any cure made by an AI.
The web is like this right now! You gotta go through noise and mess of it all! There's so many crazy people making weird stuff and sharing it all the time! You gotta find it!!!
Thanks! Yeah I did get access to TransitApp's API which as the most robust collection of public transit feed data, but it's severely rate limited. But, like you said, even with live feeds a lot of public transit is just not reliable and wouldn't really add much to the project I felt. Anyone who wants to tackle that can send me an email and I can send them the data.
I think this is really cool! I don't think Texas will make a significant dent in the global supply of olive oil any time soon, kind of the same way wine from Texas doesn't make a dent in global wine production. I imagine it'll be a small but high-quality regional thing. The weather is just too volatile. I can't see a farmer investing huge amounts of money and land in olive trees when a polar vortex can wipe them out (and then having to cut them back and wait for them to regrow which takes much longer than traditional crops). But nonetheless I think it's really cool to see how farmers are adapting and growing new things at scale like olive trees in Texas.
It's cool data and I wish the person who prompted Claude to build this would have at least made an attempt to make it optimized and readable. Like, what does "Fl • every 5 s" mean? It's frustrating because this could have been amazing!
I didn't get to mention this in my post, but what I love most about being alive today is being able to walk outside and ask a question like "where's the tallest tree?" Then come up with some answer after a couple days of analysis. Questions that you thought were impossible to answer are now in a way answerable.
Apple wallet and I've seen videos of kids on social media who make fake passes in Photoshop to get into events. This might help event coordinators deter that from happening.
Really great job from the developer. They captured the aesthetic well. Brutalism does create a sublime beauty (especially when those buildings have good upkeep), but I'm glad we no longer make buildings like that anymore.
I remember your 500 days of math post! I'm curious if along the journey you took time to apply new concepts you learned in a larger project or lab? I've never used Math Academy, but does it just give articles/videos and then exercises? Congrats on the dedication, that's a lot of work especially with kids.
