Cars without seatbelts and airbags chopping off driver's heads in relatively slow collisions? Well guess what, that could happen in a modern car as well if the driver sticks their head out the window while going through a very tight tunnel!
AI can fix a bug just from a description and logs. I have never seen replication to be an issue. Replication was more important for human bug fixing as you needed to be able to tinker with it.
This seems like a complete opposite of what you'd expect. Why hire a team of mediocre overseas workers to prompt Claude (your characterization), then have to talk to them only at weird times of day, and have a 12 hour turnaround on anything? Instead you could have one or two local devs from your social circle, swing by their desk at 9am and they have the feature that Claude built merged by lunch?
They also offer $300,000 in compute spend (allegedly) for $200 a month to anyone who isn't employed by a large corporation so their pricing should be taken with a grain of salt.
This is exactly like if someone implemented a CPU using nothing but CSS animations. Maybe a fun way to teach about turing completeness, but pretty meaningless otherwise.
This is like when people used to make tetris using only CSS or whatever in the 2010s. But it's less impressive because Claude Code can slop it out in an afternoon.
No literally, the IETF meets 3x a year in a different location each time and all the guys from with cargo shorts from the companies you named argue about IPv6 minutia all day and spend their per diem by night. It's actually a lot of fun.
IPv6 has a huge amount of bloat created by guys in cargo shorts and pony tails being flown out to exotic locales 3x a year for IETF conferences to argue about minutia and try to get their name on some IPv6 spec document. All they needed to do was add a couple more dots onto IPv4 and maybe switch to hex.
Been on HN for many years now, and the one thing that never changes is people posting angrily about small UI changes. It makes me wonder- if things have only ever gotten worse, what was the peak UI? MS DOS?
Engineered quartz looks like natural stone because it has depth and translucency, and each piece is somewhat unique because it is made by hand sprinkling various powders into a mass that gets pressed and cured. This is also why it sells for as much as natural stone. Porcelain may be physically superior but it does look like "printer paper".
Although I need to preface this by saying that the Trump administration is one of the stupidest and pettiest in history, the Nobel peace price lost all credibility after it was awarded to Barack Obama for no reason. It seems to be a mechanism for trumpeting the political views of those on the committee.
