> How do you update the software in the containers when new versions come out or vulnerabilities are actively being exploited?

You build new image with updated/patched versions of packages and then replace your vulnerable container with a new one, created from new image

About "new life", reminded me of phone booths in UK being reused as defibrillation stations:

It's more precise than landing on the ground, there is coordination with the tower required, it is way bigger than Falcon 9.

This video goes into details pretty well: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OYvWYp0--bQ&t=832s

wwarek··on The Physics of baking good Pizza (2018)
1. Good layer of flour or semolina under the pizza. Semolina being preferred as it doesn't burn that easily comparing to flour

2. Don't keep the pizza on the shovel for too long because the gluten relaxes and the dough becomes stretchy. Below minute is ideal

3. Before moving to the oven shake it well to ensure it doesn't stick and moves freely. If it doesn't, you still have chance to add some flour/semolina under it

4. Confident moves. Maybe watch some youtube vidoes showing the exact movement. Ideally it would be one energetic "shake" and done!

Never tried metal "shovel" but working with wooden one for a good 8 years with great results

edit: formatting

wwarek··on Show HN: Rethinking Tabs in Firefox
Switching from Chrome the most annoying thing in FF was lack of tab switching with Ctrl+<number>. Fortunately there are extensions providing that. Works great for 5-6 tabs, especially when it gets into muscle memory (not sure if that's correct term in this case but what I mean is that brain "knows" that ctrl+1 will be X and Ctrl+3 will be Y and can switch between tabs without thinking of their actual numbers)

wwarek··on Ask HN: New web service idea that you would pay for?
Which reminds me of a book once linked here on HN[0], The Mom Test[1]. Although (as far as I remember) not directly treats about this exact thing (or maybe it does?), it brings a lot of other very interesting points in general topic of coming up with the new business idea. I can definitely recommend, pure knowledge without fluff.

wwarek··on Apple in 2021
No, not really, I can't confirm that. I'm using third party app[0] which has nothing to do with Xiaomi. It only requires login with official app once in order to obtain encryption(?) key. After that all functionalities can be used without any problems or settings opening automatically. I guess the quoted person has misconfigured something.

wwarek··on Apple in 2021
My Mi Band 6 from Xiaomi easily lives ~30 days on one charge if used less (eg. no constant heart tracking, no PAI) and ~7 days with all tracking enabled (sleep, oxygen, heart rate, 1-2 workouts a day). With a third party app instead of Xiaomi "Mi Fit", I belive also all the data stays with me.

That makes me wonder - what does Apple Watch do that Mi Band doesn't that makes the time on battery so much different? I guess screen size and GPS during workout (Mi Band uses phone GPS), but other than that? (I'm not sure what other features it has, might be comparing apples to oranges, no pun intended)

wwarek··on Show HN: BookStack – An open source wiki platform and alternative to Confluence
Not sure if this fully fits your needs but you might want to look at Wiki.js. You can self host it, has WYSIWYG editor available (as well as HTML and markdown). I'm not associated, just use it for some time.

wwarek··on Direct file transfer via browser with no server involvement
Alternatively, using the same technology: https://www.sharedrop.io/ and actually multiple others. Quite convincing to transfer files between devices in LAN, instead of looking for USB cable to connect the phone or trying to establish (never working and much slower) Bluetooth connection.
wwarek··on The Mom Test – How to talk to customers
I'd just like to add, and it was important for me, that gumroad also has epub and mobi, not only PDF. I've almost skipped buying the book because mobi was supposedly only available on Amazon. Fortunately I clicked on gumroad just to find out that epub and mobi are also there.

wwarek··on For developers, Safari is crap and outdated
100% that, happens regularly. The most recent case being lack of `scrollIntoView` options[0], so smooth animations work everywhere but Safari. You have to go and hack/implement that manually just for Safari.
