x86hacker1010··on Show HN: Noise – Static Noise for Focusing
Love simple apps like this, thanks
x86hacker1010··on Shutterstock to pay $35M over hard-to-cancel subscriptions
Same. Apparently their privacy policy is sketchy as hell but the product has been consistent for over 12 years of using it
x86hacker1010··on Shutterstock to pay $35M over hard-to-cancel subscriptions
Don’t they charge you to cancel or something? I also remember their suite being absolutely fucking dumb I never used it again
x86hacker1010··on Ask HN: Books you wish you had read earlier?
Great book.
x86hacker1010··on Show HN: Countries where you can leave your MacBook at a random coffee shop
Yah. London I wouldn’t, but some village in the UK countryside sure
x86hacker1010··on Why is Cloudflare protecting the DDoS'er (beamed.st) attacking Ubuntu servers?
This is the dumbest post I’ve read. The attackers have a site seemingly hosted by/orange clouded by Cloudflare. They aren’t providing botnet or DDOS capabilities. Cloudflare tries to act as a third party that follows the law when the law gets involved. They don’t want to actively police the internet in the same way they don’t actively abolish piracy (see Anna’s Archive). There are exceptions to this of course, but on average I don’t find it necessary for Cloudflare to knock down the site of the attackers because they sell illegal services. Isn’t this what HN bitches about anyways, CF being a centralised authority? Now you’re bitching that it’s not using its centralisation powers?
x86hacker1010··on Whimsical Animations Course Open House
I like Josh. His courses are expensive but compared to a college course they are wayyyyyyy higher quality. Did the CSS one and leveled up a few years ago (pre AI) and felt much smarter. He knows things that many courses fail to teach. He seems like a genuinely chill guy also.
x86hacker1010··on Show HN: I made a website to clean up recipe websites
I was just heading out the door and pasted a recipe into Claude to the email me the distilled version. Thanks for this
x86hacker1010··on Show HN: Runner – A Better Claude Cowork
Is it just me or are all these comments fake ?
x86hacker1010··on Shakespeare owned a house in London. We know where it was

x86hacker1010··on Show HN: GBrain, an AI tool for diagnosis and therapy for neurodivergents
The ads on this page almost put me into therapy
x86hacker1010··on Pro Max 5x quota exhausted in 1.5 hours despite moderate usage
Im sorry but I have to finally cancel, it’s gotten abysmal.
x86hacker1010··on 2026 is the year that decides whether the open web will survive
What open web?
x86hacker1010··on Ask HN: What's the Point of MCP?
Glad I’m not alone here. Seemed easier to orchestrate some delegation logic my own
x86hacker1010··on Ask HN: How to get my blackhat child on the straight and narrow?
Finding a mentor, getting him to meet professionals and showing him the way of white hat is probably good.

My parents didn’t understand my obsession for computers at a young age and I also went down a fairly black hat learning route.

I suggest you inform him via the likes of DEFCON, support groups, local hacker spaces. It’s easy to go down a wrong path in this field.

x86hacker1010··on Show HN: I built didtheyghost.me, open-source tool for your next job search
In an employees market this might work. Are we in a market suitable for this? Maybe not
x86hacker1010··on AI is going to hack Jira
Back in 2017 I had people who had the full time job of Scrum Master. Oh have the times changed. Luckily my team doesn’t abuse Jira, but some companies… oh boy
x86hacker1010··on Researcher Captures Contents of 'DEI.gov' Before It Was Hidden Behind a Password
Ill informed on the inefficiency that seems to be Doge, but isn’t all this moot if we spend like 50 billion dollars on missles and shit? Like.. $3 mil here and there is like .01% of the actual waste
x86hacker1010··on LM2: Large Memory Models
This seems to be the most appropriate
x86hacker1010··on I Blog with Raw Txt
Lol. At least I don’t see runtime JS converting the font to courier new from system, but this burns my eyes to hell.

Edit: your post about spamming spammers made me chuckle

x86hacker1010··on Firing programmers for AI will destroy everything
You think this like newcomers can’t use the LLM to more deeply understand these topics in addition to glue. This mindset is a fallacy as newcomers are more adept and passionate as any other generation. They have better tools and can compete just the same.
x86hacker1010··on I Blog with Raw HTML
Shit glitched out on load because you’re using JavaScript lol
x86hacker1010··on Station of despair: What to do if you get stuck at end of Tokyo Chuo Rapid Line
Im so intrigued by Japan. It seems truly like a dream. As an avid love for Haruki Murakami, I feel he captures the essence of Japan more than any other writer.
x86hacker1010··on Show HN: Western Deepseek – Same model but we don't send your data to China
Already in the other worst alternative which is the USA.
x86hacker1010··on Show HN: Western Deepseek – Same model but we don't send your data to China
Not sure which is worse. Sending data to China or the USA
x86hacker1010··on Self-hosting a high-availability Postgres cluster on Kubernetes
Any reason you landed on that Operator compared to what OP is using (Zalando)?
x86hacker1010··on Test Anything Protocol
Not to be confused with the Telocator Alphanumeric Protocol (TAP) like TUN/TAP virtual network interfaces!
