Windows will maintain its user base until schools adopt a different OS. Until that happens, Linux will keep growing into the single digits.

I've used their CDN for the past 4 years. Their pricing is extremely competitive (cheap) compared to everyone else.

Could NVIDIA be in hot water if it's proven they sold restricted hardware to Chinese companies?

You can do this all in the browser: https://dropnread.io/

> So if Transferwise and PayPal are equally bad, you might still want to give your business to the smaller company?

Actually, it is not that straightforward. One should check what kind of customer service is available, where are they located, who has access to the account and information and yada yada yada.

PayPal is a much safer choice than Wise in this aspect.

The services mentioned have more or less the same terms of use policies. Can (Transfer)Wise lock your account? Yes Can (Transfer)Wise keep your money for 6 months? Yes Can (Transfer)Wise take money from you due to damages? Yes Also, if you want to dig deeper, look up where/who is doing their customer support, who has access to your financial records, and who makes decisions to approve measures against you. My personal experience with (Transfer)Wise - an intern with 6 months of experience (according to their LinkedIn) locked my personal account together with 4 business accounts. Why? Lack of training and a bad day at work/home.

I've seen plenty of stores selling stolen merchandise and pirated goods via PayPal so these terms of use make a lot of sense to me.

The issue started 5h47m ago for us. The Stripe status page is unreliable like everyone's else status page. The Stripe API returns "An unknown error occurred". The only source of information has been Twitter but it is not very credible - 3 hours ago, Stripe tweeted that the issue has been fixed just to find an avalanche of counter replies.

Automattic

The issue with expanding the screenshots on mobile needs to be addressed I think there is room to charge more. I would price it as annual subscription at $29-$59 per PC. The current price of $5 makes it look cheap and toy software. Sign executables and install ssl certificate on the website - you are missing on a large number of early adopters if you skip it.

Wait, how do you make eye contact with a cyclist on the road?

To me, the voice did not match the way characters were moving. It seemed very unnatural and not polished. Quite a big diff in sync between audio and video on my end.

I am quite surprised. Our experience has been quite positive. We were able to do full coverage of our web app in less than a month without prior experience with cypress. This is what we learned from it: https://blog.servmask.com/8-tricks-i-learned-from-cypress/

I've just tried it. It works and it is really convenient!

No, imo $99/month is extremely high. I pay Google $40 and Slack the same. They do a lot more data crunching and traffic. To get me as a customer, I need yearly payment that is not based on my profits. I am willing to pay anything below $240/year

2 years ago I tried Intercom too, to discover their prices. They were charging me more than Google App, Slack, and AWS combined. Very disappointed and I told them back then. It is still the same 2 years later.

Audio/Video/Image encoding/decoding and crypto is about all that I can find webassembly useful for. I wonder why all the hype with it.

SaaS model like GitLab but I read here yesterday that community edition != paid/enterprise edition. GPL license for free use. Charge for commercial use like Qt ... but apperently this is not working well.

Donate buttons are a joke when used for software. They never worked. Now I see a different type of support in video streamers on Twitch or YouTube. Perhaps there is a way to apply this concept to software vendors...

Take a week or two off. Let this slip your mind for a while. Quitting a job can be exciting at first but VERY stressful when money run out. Take time off, apply here and there see what comes back after your holiday. First couple of years after university can be stressful and the first job or two are expected to be like that.

I had a contractor working for me who came and openly talked about this with me. After digging into the problem more, we found it is about the chemistry of the team and he was not getting along with their manager. He changed the job, got a lower pay and life continued fine for him. The point here is to identify the trigger than eliminate it.

Business and first class on planes pays for the trip. Economy can be free.

To my knowledge, Slack has always been an electron app. Did they use something else initially that was unnoticed?

Salt has much nicer configs and feels supeior to Ansible. The main disadvantage that I had with salt was the need to have a salt master server. I read that this is no longer needed but I have not tried it myself. Keeping secrets outside of the repo was not trivial task, ansible has an easy way to encrypt secrets.

I like the idea. We will try it out Monday

I love the product. I am sure most people don't want to allow direct connections to their databases. I haven't used the software so it might put a lot of load on my database that the server is not able to handle. It will be best if I can import a SQL dump and then use the software on a copy of my data. The alternative right now is to run a separate server just so I can try out the software.

The article says that the $1k is for all 5000 of their employees. I doubt all of them have a laptop that they take home and most laptops already include a decent microphone and camera. The budget definitely does not target buying a laptop or desktop computer. It has to be for accessories like a chair, desk, scanner+printer.

I like the idea and I would like to use the product but the pricing needs to target more than large enterprises. $3,360 as a starting price is more than I am willing to invest. For 10 users, I pay $1,620.40/annually to use Jira + Slack + GitHub.

Also, I do not want to request a demo, I want to try it out myself, then invite a few more people to try it out.

Been there done that. I would take a different route. I will start with one application and make it easy for a developer to install and run it on their computer, ideally with some dummy data. Price it as free to use, you will get tones of users. These users will need a way to get these local applications to a staging and to a production servers. Thats where you charge money and you control the entire cycle. Pulling and pushing data between live and staging sites is where the demand is and there are not many easy to use solutions.

This service is still alpha/beta at best. I tried them and I got customers with double charges, missing emails, and their interface is difficult to understand and make use of. Give them one more year before trying.

The outcome: Alternate-day fasting does not produce superior weight loss or weight maintenance compared with daily calorie restriction.

I found this study after seeing an article on CNN titled "Eating in a 6-hour window and fasting for 18 hours might help you live longer".
