yread··on The Mythical Man-Month in the Age of AI
> 9 coders

How do you do that? If I let just 2 agents work in parallel they keep stepping on each other, waiting for each other and the perf tests become super noisy (because they run them in parallel)

yread··on Europe's summer heat wave killed more han 50k people in urban areas
Even in the perfect land of the free people die from heat:

> we estimate that some 9,000 deaths each year in the country are impacted by heat

yread··on A Markdown File Should Just Open
TotalCmd's Lister can handle it. By default you just get text and hex viewer, but you can install plugins (like for markdown) and then it renders rich text by default but you can switch to plain text (or hex) by pressing 1 or 3. One day I'll move away from Windows and I'll have to find a replacement :(

yread··on The 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement is no longer viable
CO2 emissions trade for about 50$/t. CO2 capture costs 500$/t. So, both are useless - it costs 10 times more to get the carbon out, why are we selling them so cheap, it costs 10 times more to get the carbon out compared to not emitting it, it will never be economical.

yread··on Fire at Starlink site in Bulgaria after suspected sabotage in Poland
On the other hand imagine how popular would a real nationalist far right party be that would say "fight Russia"
yread··on One in ten people are older than 65. Three in four live under a leader who is
Notice that Senate wasn't the only governing party in ancient Rome. Also "old" is relative. It meant "too old to serve in military", with Sulla's reforms the minimum age was 31 and even before that most influential senators were 40-50.

For emperors: out of 80 only 14 were over 65. 2 resigned/died at 66, 1 at 67, 2 ruled only few months, so really 9 out of 80. Rome is not the place to look for old rulers

yread··on Hetzner: The New GPU Server GEX63 for Professional AI Workloads
Did they just make GEX131 more expensive and placed this at its old price point?
yread··on Passkeys are a trap
I think it's rather this millenium's "just check the domain really carefully". You can't choose a weak TOTP, write it on a post it or share TOTPs on multiple websites. The main (only?) failure mode is that you type it in an attacker-controlled input.

yread··on Nobel Peace Prize for 2026 to Navanethem "NAVI" Pillay
Conversely, American individuals are also not sovereign so when they come to a sovereign land where they are sought (by the state or its partners through treaties) for crimes, they are subject to the the state's laws and treaties.
