zhs··on Ask HN: Where do seasoned devs look for short-term work?
You could check out https://www.gofractional.com, it's built for this kind of thing.
zhs··on Bacteria (and Their Metabolites) and Depression
Yes! I'm also curious what specific changes you made related to your IBD protocols backed up by your genetic predispositions.
zhs··on Electron Fiddle: Get started with Electron
Honest question, when solutions like https://github.com/tauri-apps/tauri exist out there that promise smaller build sizes and similar developer experiences, are folks still using Electron to build new apps?
zhs··on Jog: Print the last 10 commands you ran in the current directory
Why not use fzf? https://github.com/junegunn/fzf
zhs··on Show HN: Automated Health Dashboard
Same! If you haven't already come across it https://gyrosco.pe/ might be worth a look.
zhs··on A log/event processing pipeline you can't have (2019)
GitHub project here https://github.com/timberio/vector/
zhs··on ForgJs – A lightweight object validator
I've found https://github.com/ianstormtaylor/superstruct to be really flexible/powerful.
zhs··on VuePress: a static site generator that excels at working with documentation
How does it compare to docusaurus, gitdocs, and a variety of other tools out there?
zhs··on CodeSandbox Live – Real-time code collaboration in the browser
Huge fan of CodeSandbox! Out of curiosity what approach did you use to handle real-time collaboration on the backend?
zhs··on Paw – macOS HTTP client for testing and describing APIs
significantly more buggy in my experience (this was a few months ago though)
zhs··on Hello, Yarn
Well said.
zhs··on The terrorist inside my husband's brain
Thanks for indulging my curiosity, have heard of it believe it or not.
zhs··on The terrorist inside my husband's brain
Sorry to pry, but may I ask which neuro-muscular disease you're referring to? A bit fascinated by the inability of many doctors to make proper diagnoses when dealing with neurological issues.
zhs··on NASA Open Source Software
I guess they never quite solved pagination.
zhs··on SeatGeek Raises $62M
+1 best ops team in the business
zhs··on Placemeter Raises a $6M Series A

zhs··on Show HN: Impress – Open Source Ghost Theme
Hey guys, I thought I'd release this theme for anyone who wants to use it on their ghost blog – just got mine set up and am loving it. This baby works particularly well on mobile. Here's a demo on my blog: http://www.zach.sh/
zhs··on Moon
Hahaha I didn't think about that but that would also be clever. Another possible explanation is the Eliza Protocol which I understand is involved in protein breakdown – not unlike the way his body breaks down. http://www.piercenet.com/method/overview-protein-protein-int...
zhs··on Hyperminimal UI theme for Sublime Text
Same here.
zhs··on Show HN: Bit of News
Exactly what I was thinking, it's pretty much a direct clone.
zhs··on Show HN: Bitcast.io – A marketplace for web development tutorials
Amen.
zhs··on Show HN: Bitcast.io – A marketplace for web development tutorials
We overlooked that but completely agree, and we're adding that ASAP. FYI, the Backbone + Rails videos were produced recently and are very up to date – I went through all of them myself.
zhs··on Show HN: Bitcast.io – A marketplace for web development tutorials
Thanks Tesla, and thank you for Alternating Current.
zhs··on Show HN: Bitcast.io – A marketplace for web development tutorials
We're definitely planning on adding Go. Do you have any screencasts that you enjoy in particular that'd you'd like us to add?
zhs··on Show HN: Bitcast.io – A marketplace for web development tutorials
Hey Josh, Zach here (one of the co-founders). We personally don't use PHP very much but we're more than open to hosting those screencasts. If you have any recommendations or would like to post some yourself please let us know.
zhs··on Show HN: Bitcast.io – A marketplace for web development tutorials
Thanks Joseph, having developers release screencasts where they work on actual projects is definitely a big goal of ours. People often underestimate how much you can learn by watching someone who's an expert in something.
zhs··on Show HN: Bitcast.io – A marketplace for web development tutorials
That's a great point, we're going to add that ASAP.
zhs··on Ask HN: I'm an engineer, how do I learn design?
As with most things: practice. A great way to learn is to find free resources on dribbble, open the PSDs and analyze all of the techniques used on each layer and how they fit together.
zhs··on Show HN: A site for teaming up designers and developers on short projects
What happened?
zhs··on Show HN: My seven minute workout timer evening project
Thanks man, yeah you can now attach full files on dribbble.
