1-6··on AI is forcing us to pay off 40 years of technical debt
Another way to look at it is that companies who have let their software development teams go while keeping their software alive are bound to face a reckoning, as AI will inevitably expose their skeletons.

I'd rather play golf instead of watching birds all day. I think the fundamentals of why it slows cognitive decline are similar.
1-6··on OLED iPad Mini
What isn't smooth is the separation between the iPad and iPhone teams. I'm pretty sure new things being visited on the Duo such as the split keyboard interface have already been tried on the iPad side.

1-6··on We turned EmbeddingGemma 2 into a speech-to-text model
People say old MacBook Air M1 but its architecture was so groundbreaking that it's still relevant in 2026. Apple definitely underplayed its release in 2020.
1-6··on Apple HomeView
I suspect that this hardware is highly subsidized. Apple needs to quickly push AI (Apple Intelligence) and leapfrog SI (/s). It's unlike Apple to release a product like this so cheap. They're planning to make money through future AI services.

My local news station started focusing on issues far across the country to monetize on sentational headlines and clicks... I'm glad there's concern about improving local news.

The greener solution is to use water.

1-6··on Run Qwen 3.8 Flash Next (125B) on consumer hardware (RTX 4090) at 100T/s
I hope we're coming to a plateau with the HBM/GDDR7/on-chip RAM hype and get back to normalcy with system RAM alternatives for the rest of us.

Unfortunately, with any organization, it's possible to buy safety ratings too.

1-6··on California farmers are struggling to sell grapes as demand for wine drops
Let's just say it as it is... Wine is 'supposedly' an acquired taste but for most, it tastes bitter and not enjoyable for the cost. Tastes shift and luxury items from yesteryear no longer makes a strong statement about affluence to this generation.
