14u2c··on Residential proxies detected on White House network
Why is this omission of any note? I know the building and I can tell you that it is not particularly remarkable.
14u2c··on Linode Security Incident
More likely we'll just see another shakeup of the layers of abstraction that the average company operates at. Why would you hire specialized people when AWS can do so for you?
14u2c··on Edit an SQLite database in your browser
You're definitely not wrong. It's the new code smell.
14u2c··on In Leaked Audio, Flock CEO Tells Cops Backlash to the Company Isn't Real
Yes, exactly. In other words, they were introspective.
14u2c··on In Leaked Audio, Flock CEO Tells Cops Backlash to the Company Isn't Real
> Great men of history had little to no introspection.

These people are completely detached from reality. How do they think we know the thoughts of these so called great men?

14u2c··on AI use leads UC Berkeley math professor to see 'no point' in grading homework
> No one is stopping them.

Except for the person refusing to grade it, of course.

14u2c··on JetBrains Thinkrail
I should have done so, that’s unfortunate. Doesn’t bode well for their Java stack.
14u2c··on JetBrains Thinkrail
Jetbrains software is not web-based.

> You have to figure out a new transactional structure that can’t have your tuition made irrelevant by a $20 subscription.

Maybe a problem in the long term, but irrelevant here. These students paid (a lot of) money for this service. The provider of the service needs to stop complaining and do their job (grade the homework). If even a single student did the work themselves, anything otherwise would be a disservice.

14u2c··on SlopCodeBench 10/2026 – Opus 5.5, Astra wins overall, xhigh considered harmful
> even that's fine because output tokens cost ~5x input tokens.

That's assuming you come in under a certain threshold of revisions, and excludes the tokens generated for all the exchanges. The later can be be significant, especially when there are significant issues to correct.

14u2c··on SlopCodeBench 10/2026 – Opus 5.5, Astra wins overall, xhigh considered harmful
You are correct, at least based on my experimentation. This subagent workflow really only delivers meaningful results when working across model families (ex: Opus asking Astra for a review) or when working across conceptual hardware boundaries (cloud offloading to local inference, etc). The planner / overseer model ends up reading all the output of the coder model anyway, at least if you want quality output, so there's not much benefit otherwise.
14u2c··on Linux 7.3
> A user-space daemon can saturate almost any network link using a single CPU core.

Certainly not a guarantee at today's link speeds. We're increasingly leaning into RDMA and other forms of offloading for a reason.

14u2c··on Java sealed classes and exhaustive pattern matching
This comment has major 2018 vibes. Most enterprises I know have have migrated back to mainline Java. We'll see if this changes again LLM era, now that prioritizing the talent pool is less important and the friction of migrating stacks is much reduced.
14u2c··on OpenAI engineer arrested in bugging of executive conference room
Maybe if you are considering crime committed in pursuit of profit, but unfortunately there can be many other aims.
14u2c··on Intel D270 GPU AI Accelerator–Up to 480 GB LPDDR5X
Dog slow, at last for me. I can't crack 30 tokens/s. I'm trying an Intel B70 next.
14u2c··on Show HN: Opensidian
Did you interact with said output by reviewing it and hitting squash on the PR? Congratulations, it's now a derivative work.

Edit: I stand corrected. It does appear that this is a serious issue.

14u2c··on Character.ai has initiated voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy
> where you actually have to entice your employees not to leave

Yes, by offering them things like equity in the company. This practice throws all that out the window though, in essence unilaterally renegotiating the terms of employment. When the leadership team can be acquired independently of the company then these employees can be left with nothing. Sometimes the corp doing the acquisition will throw a bone to the dregs left, but that does not appear to be legally required. It's exploitative and unjust.

14u2c··on Show HN: Opensidian
Why do you think it's not copyrightable? It absolutely is under current US law. OP copied the interfaces, which is perfectly legal, and then defined their own implementations. Even if they are working with an LLM, that process of interactive prompting establishes authorship.
14u2c··on Show HN: Use your OpenAI subscription to create audiobooks
Why? It's easy and predictable. Generate a key with a spend cap plus short expiry and you're set. I much prefer that to having to fork over my email with an OAuth flow.
14u2c··on Intel D270 GPU AI Accelerator–Up to 480 GB LPDDR5X
It's a workstation card targeted specifically at inference. It's also their only late gen "AI GPU" arch available, baring the release of the D270 this thread is about.
14u2c··on Intel D270 GPU AI Accelerator–Up to 480 GB LPDDR5X
How so? You can walk into Micro Center and buy a B70 right now. Intel is the only one to offer license-free SR-IOV too.
14u2c··on Intel D270 GPU AI Accelerator–Up to 480 GB LPDDR5X
Very true, though traditionally it did refer to GDDR.
14u2c··on Incident with Actions, Pull Requests and Issues
Sure, that is possible, but there's still no evidence that compute scarcity is the issue here. It seems a stretch to assume it must be the pricing model when there are a multitude of challenges presented by this kind of ramp.
14u2c··on Incident with Actions, Pull Requests and Issues
I don't see the connection. Pricing may effect their long term prospects, but I don't see any evidence these issues are being caused by a shortage of metered / allocated resources. They should have access to as much Azure compute as necessary.
14u2c··on Using AI for just 10 minutes erodes your ability to persist at hard things
More like I have done the work, we all have. Then it was stolen and sold back to us, with the openly stated goal of devaluing our labor. I can understand a bit of entitlement here.
14u2c··on Incident with Git Operations, Pull Requests and Actions – Resolved
Prodliness is next to Godliness.
14u2c··on Tell HN: GitHub refuses to remove cracked copies of my software after a month
> Right now, the settled law is that such an LLM reproduction is 100% legal.

How so? Interfaces are not copyrightable, but that it not the same as dissecting a js bundle and copying the implementations. Are we sure these LLM are keeping sanitary habits there?

14u2c··on City building games have a Soul Problem pt.2
Another reason SimCity 4 is still be best one of these to be made.
14u2c··on Effect 4.0
Not only that but the play tab is broken. The default example does not compile in their own playground. And I'm still not sure what this thing is.
14u2c··on Figma restricts MCP access to whitelisted clients, excluding Pi
They tried. Figma Make was at least useful for the free tokens.
