Despite the fact that fundamentally vibe coding is enabled by good interface specification and design specs by engineers
Now we just have to get them to expose interfaces so that we can write the software for the interfaces that we want.
Instead it is: hey I burned some tokens on this... I dodn't test it or give you any indication thereof, so it's probably a waste of your time, since it's legacy is well known enough, it'll get some attention.
Get used to it!
So consider backing there. There may have been 20 companies trying to make 20 games, All in startup mode.
Now two or three of those succeed ed.. which means the management and team chemistry and creativity all worked really well. And the team members will have them mistaken impression that it's that easy.
But then some people leave some people ad in the next games, sure, they may have a better foundation than some other team situations at others, but it's going to gradually regress to the mean
The compilation recompilation and automatic porting represents such a quantum leap in terms of software, preservation and software freedom.
Almost like every single piece of software written in the last 50 years can be repurposed by the end users for what they need, not the oppression copyright laws and judgements handed out by a corrupt judiciary and legislative branch
Let them eat cake.
Legislative, Executive, Judicial, doesn't matter: everything since 9/11, and likely much longer before in unofficial capacities, has been the steady groundwork for complete overturn of civil and constitutional rights indefinitely ... and therefore permanently.
Gulf of Tonkin / Reichstag Fire as justification. Secret courts, enemy combatants, warrantless monitoring, disappearing of people, dismantling of institutional memory. Databases, social networks, graph inference of behavior, secret lists. Massive prison infrastructure with no regard for cruel and unusual punishment.
This is the imminent great filter: not some nuclear armageddon. It's staring at us in China -- the human race placed under boot, and everyone stops having kids. A couple generations, and a civilization essentially disappears.
God why am I defending Amazon?
No agents. And if someone loops the response into an agent, well, then they are legally liable for personally doing that.
We should pause with AI/LLMs being super search engines that reply with static text or media files, based on the training data.
I know that a user can still do a "tell me how to" then autoexec and then loop and do an agent, but the key thing here is, THAT WOULD MAKE THEM LIABLE.
OpenAI should be criminally liable here as well. Why aren't they? Why are we pretending this is just an innocent mistake?
I'd argue at least half of it basically functions as a petroleum subsidy.
And the other thing that people just simply do not understand is it's solar and wind are now cheaper than anything else, even if the subsidies are applied to them, and would be even more so if the trump tarrifs were eliminated.
The only justification in nuclear right now it's deglobalization and energy independence. But I would argue all the money you throw into nuclear for that, it's much better served simply building out solar and wind
But I thought South Korea made a good swing at it, but I haven't kept up on things much
They cannot make user and customer focused software. They cannot make user and customer focused hardware. They do not care about customers.
Although I guess they have proven to be okay at data centers.
What should the Xbox be if Microsoft was a competent organization, like half of what apple is? And I'm not an Apple fan by the way
- since they have a monopoly of PC gaming, much to the pain of PC gaming users, that should afford them the ability to effortlessly Port x86 base games to an x86 gaming console platform
- because of their extensive relationships with PC hardware manufacturers, it should afford them the ability to produce a very powerful but cost-effective gaming platform
- Maybe even since steam runs primarily on x86, Microsoft could have partnered with steam to get their games onto that platform relatively seamlessly
- The PC gaming has several decades of dos and windows games that could have been updated, remade, or the like, so there should have been a wealth of ip available to them
- and with good coordination, should have been able to bootstrap dozens of software gaming studios to make actual good games exclusive to their platform
Well Microsoft succeeded at some of this. They did not succeed to the necessary degree, especially with treating their own custom games
Simply make them something that derives a text response from its training data.
Wafers rare Earth's, specialized equipment, etc?
Nonetheless, I think it is a failure of architecture that modern design is ugly. It shouldn't be impossible to make good looking, practical, cost-effective buildings with all the options of materials and engineering that is available.
So let's start as the baseline of these 77 to 23 blowout victories by traditional architecture.
Now gradually substitute other modern designs until you can get more of a 50/50 agreement at least, and hopefully 60/40 in favor of modernism.
You could be right. Some of these might be cherry picked bad modern designs. From the article one of them looked like it should have the wicked witch of the West telling her pretties to fly out from their caves to go attack Dorothy. Another one looks like a massive collection of missile launch tubes.
Some designs I almost have to laugh at, when almost similarly disjointed mcmansion hell type monstrosities are snootily dismissed.
Unless our judiciary gets serious about what started with 9/11, authoritarianism is inevitable.
This actually is my primary candidate for the great filter.
That phrase gets bandied about quite casually in my experience. Usually is an ironic light joke about somebody in your peer group on talking to other people or near your peer group.
As such, it's been sort of semantically watered down quite a lot in our popular cult.
But it's perfect for people like Steve Jobs.
