BinaryBuddha··on Ask HN: Computer, programming book and no internet. Is it still doable?
I'd say not only doable, but would likely also encourage better habits initially. This question reminds me of a school I read about that taught programming using only pencil and paper.
BinaryBuddha··on Cybersecurity Checklist for Political Campaigns
I'm generally a fan of Zeltser's materials for many things, but I have to echo the comments from other users here: This seems lacking. In addition to the TechSolidarity resource, the Cybersecurity Campaign PlayBook from Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center is pretty good:

https://www.belfercenter.org/CyberPlaybook

BinaryBuddha··on Are we raising a generation which doesn't care about privacy?
I find that there is a certain casual helplessness in the tone of most people - not just youngsters - when they talk about how much governments and corporations actually know about them. I would say there are primarily two camps/ schools of thought on the topic: the first believing that privacy does not matter, and the second - while assigning privacy a certain value - thinking it a lost cause.
BinaryBuddha··on Is cybersecurity a good career choice right now?
Having spent the last few years in a hybrid role ranging from security practitioner, to curriculum designer, and educator, I'd say that cybersecurity has the luxury of being both a challenging and enjoyable career field.

As far as 'good career choice', I can't accurately respond to that without knowing what a good career looks like for you. That being said, if we use # of openings + starting salary as metrics... it does look like a promising career. CSOOnline predict 3.5 million unfilled jobs in cyber by 2021 (https://www.csoonline.com/article/3200024/security/cybersecu...).

I'd recommend taking a look at https://www.cyberdegrees.org to figure out what roles interest you and the experience / certifications that will help you get there. Additionally, if you are looking for materials to read/learn/practice hands-on activities in security, I'll share the (constantly growing) list I've curated: https://www.exeltek.net/accesscyber.

Feel free to reach out with any specific questions you might have, and best of luck!

BinaryBuddha··on Ask HN: Where can I work for free?
Definitely agree with the other comments: it sounds like you're looking to contribute to open source projects. https://opensource.guide/how-to-contribute/ provides 'testimonials' from professionals who have contributed to open source projects - If you feel comfortable doing so, I'd encourage you to reach out to them for project recommendations, and pick something that matches your skill set + interests. Good luck!
