That person is right to be angry with StackOverflow for that, and another comment explains that StackOverflow was editing their words but still claiming that they them. That can cause reputational damage. StackOverflow should have been sued over that.
That's not the problem, the problem is electing politicians who immediately renege on their promises as soon as they're elected and don't represent the interests of the people who voted for them.
It always has been the case that some new labor skills emerge, but that only has to be wrong once. And given that how it's always worked is that the new skills used brainpower to make centaurs of people, to use Cory Doctorow's term, that might not happen this time.
They managed the external connection because they were being provided with one by outside nations trying to topple the government. They were promptly arrested and the "protests" fizzled out. Trump then bombed them anyway.
That's true: Obama bucked the trend. Overall, there were still many powerful interests in the US who despised Iran waiting to take power. I'd still call it just a matter of time.
Just bear in mind that many US states are implementing the so-called age verification laws, which will soon turn into identity verification laws. So simply being in the US doesn't protect them against having to comply with these things. Someone is going to have to fight the laws.
Quite the contrary. It doesn't matter what Iran does: their crime is existing without being under the control of the US. The US installed a puppet regime in Iran in 1953, and had a powerful vassal in the middle east, close to the Soviet Union. They freed themselves in 1979, gaining control of their own resources, and the US never forgave them for it. The only way the US would have allowed them to go on existing without attacking would be for them to become slaves again.
Note that all of a sudden, the great majority of the comments on this page appear to be pro-US government and pretend that the CCP is somehow worse. Not a coincidence: the regulatory capture is starting right here.
Kind of seems like the thing the mods should be on top of, doesn't it? Something getting flagged because users have a conflict of interest and a pro-corporate bias.
My apologies if I was rude. But I still stand by my statement: this technology is unlike anything that came before it and the effects on the youth are mostly bad. We will probably have to agree to disagree: at least until it becomes obvious who's correct.
Very bad analogy, and it looks like perhaps you don't understand this technology at all. Studies are showing that overusing it makes people stupid. Young people today are going to wind up completely unemployable.
That seems true from our perspective. But from his, there may be a huge difference between committing murder, no matter how justified it may seem, and just leaving the world.
