You pay enoug for trash in the Bay Area to pay a person to sort the trash by hand
Google234··on All foster kids in California can now attend any state college for free
We have community college + low cost state colleges. CC is almost free, cheap state colleges probably will cause a little debt. Some part time job will probably offset most of this.

Completely free will be abused probably, let’s be honest

Google234··on I am dying of squamous cell carcinoma, and potential treatments are out of reach
What about the right to refuse? I don’t think there actually is a problem here, there’s no reason for this Pharma company to provide an expensive untested drug- only potential negatives
Google234··on I am dying of squamous cell carcinoma, and potential treatments are out of reach
I don’t think these people would be useful. Pharma needs controlled double blind studies to actually tell if the therapies work.
Google234··on An annual physical exam costs $400 USD on average in the USA
Doctors don’t make 200k+ in those countries either

Google234··on A deal to keep the Colorado from going dry – for now
I wish more people were aware how much water goes to agriculture and would react accordingly when their government asks them to cut water usage or raises prices - 90% goes to (largely wasteful) farming and they don’t really pay…

It’s not the people taking 2 (gasp) showers a day fault, it’s the almond farmers using floors irrigation

Google234··on To help new students adapt, some colleges are eliminating grades
Just note, if you take a look at the actual materials covered and single final assignment required for classes at WGU you will find they are a joke compared to what you find at standard universities (e.g. university of utah, Virginia tech,…)
Google234··on Apple’s agreement with Cupertino
No joke but I know of an Apple employee with a HS girlfriend (underaged). If you go to Berkeley CS you’d know.

Google234··on Twitch CEO Emmett Shear is resigning
He’s been so absent.
Google234··on Blocking Kiwifarms
You can probably email dang (probably @ycombin…) if you want. Mentioning his user name here might be enough too.
Google234··on Despite Tuesday’s flight, Jeff Bezos is running out of time to save Blue Origin
And Blue Origin has forced ULA to fall back to using Russian rockets engines because their engine hasn’t been finished yet. ULA probably regrets using BE now.
Google234··on The Framework Laptop is now shipping
Tires are more like the plastic rubber things on the bottom of the laptop. What you want is to upgrade the engine.
Google234··on The Framework Laptop is now shipping

Google234··on iOS 14.6 device hacked with a zero-click iMessage exploit to install Pegasus
Could be that your battery has deteriorated too muchz
Google234··on Looking Glass: Run a Windows VM on Linux in a window with native performance
For EAC, they require a variety of signals to ban someone (unless it’s a obvious thing like detecting a known cheat.) An honest VM setup that doesn’t obfuscate probably counts as one potential signal that you are cheating, an obfuscated one that they are able detect might be a stronger signal.
Google234··on Looking Glass: Run a Windows VM on Linux in a window with native performance
Better anti cheats won’t allow setups like this.
Google234··on We will win the war for general-purpose computing
You probably meant to say 6+ years instead of a “few years”. Apple is excellent compared to everyone else in this respect.

Google234··on Valve Steam Deck
Is it easy for an anti cheat verify that it’s running on an untampered Linux installation?
Google234··on Valve Steam Deck
“Perfectly fine” for cheaters too. that’s the issue with anti cheat on Linux. It’s much easier to verify the integrity of a windows environment.
