J0415··on Stop pushing redux
Before I clicked on the title, I thought this was going to be about Redux, the Flux framework. (https://github.com/rackt/redux)

J0415··on Ask HN: Do you feel like you're missing out?
> Owner is saving for a couch (Kevin Rose said this after his cover story in a magazine)

Not that I didn't believe you, but I wanted to hear it for myself. I finally found it on Diggnation: http://revision3.com/diggnation/2006-08-03/

06:30 - They start talking BusinessWeek's cover story: "How [Kevin Rose] made $60 million in 18 months"

06:50 - Rose: "Here's the deal - I don't have 60 million dollars. I don't have 1 million dollars. I don't have any thousands of dollars."

Note: they bring up the couch because the episode starts off talking about Kevin moving out and the lack of furniture in his new place.

J0415··on Shipping Basecamp 2.0 for iOS
May have been primed by the misleading title, but I also misread the post date as December 2004...
J0415··on Dutch Girl Fakes a Trip to South East Asia
Here's a post with more pictures: http://www.buzzfeed.com/ryanhatesthis/this-woman-used-photos...
J0415··on Tin cans filled with $10M in gold coins found buried in California

J0415··on British Airways Digital Billboards Know When A Plane Is Flying Overhead
In reality, I suspect very few people actually notice what is going on in the ad. Ironically, they /will/ get a lot of 'wow' but mostly from the virality of the video and maybe award submissions. Which means they need not have produced the actual signage but just the video and probably would have achieved the same result. But that would have been too easy to earn them any publicity. How meta.
J0415··on Adobe confirms stolen passwords were encrypted, not hashed
Since this http://codahale.com/how-to-safely-store-a-password/
J0415··on Show HN: Fashion hot-or-not/How the f*ck do I market this?
Sorry I can't help you with marketing... But on the usability side, please put the like/dislike buttons in a fixed position. It is very easy to misclick as they move around with every photo!
J0415··on How Much Would You Pay to Never See an Online Ad Again?
Hint: jailbreak and install AdBlock on your iPad
J0415··on DoubleDollarJS.com
I prefer "bling bling JS"
J0415··on Keypress: A JavaScript input capture library
Great work just wanted to say that Print screen button was not working for me. Running Chrome 22.0.1229.79 on Windows 7.
J0415··on Facebook saves your old passwords
Google Apps does this too. It does not allow you to set your password to something that you've used before.
J0415··on The fall of Angry Birds
OT, but in CSR Racing and many "pay to avoid waiting" games, there's actually a bug where if you move forward the time on your device, the game thinks the time has passed and gives you the free gas.
J0415··on Airbnb Releases Infinity.js: A Javascript Library for Smoother Scrolling
Its probably there just in case scroll detection breaks. Some browsers - specifically BlackBerry browser (v4.6 to 5.0) - support AJAX lazy loading but don't support the scroll event.
J0415··on ScreenB.in, short URLs for screenshots
I noticed that I can't just paste random images to your app. How do you guys detect that it is a screenshot I am pasting?
J0415··on What the hell does ≡ do, anyway?
I would argue the OS X, Twitter and Facebook examples all have the same meaning - "click me to see a list of items".
J0415··on The Used TV Price Is Too Damn High
I think its due to the perception that TVs work for a long time without failure, and hence hold their value since they can still be used for many years to come.
J0415··on VIA launches $49 Android PC
Because having both a DVI and a HDMI port is redundant. HDMI is backwards compatible with DVI so you can convert DVI <-> HDMI easily, but not VGA which is analog.
J0415··on Joshfire does for connected things what Wordpress did for the web
I don't think its worth breaking horizontal scrolling for those fancy page transitions or whatever reason you have for discriminating small screens / split screen users. Not everyone surfs the web full screen on a large monitor.
