Assume we have excellent test coverage -- the AI can write the code and ensure get the feedback for it being secure / fast / etc.
And the AI can help us write the damn tests!
My company has a react team somewhere, but not ruby...
We'd jettison them, but we kinda want at least 70 people to run the ship and we have supplies for 100 people that honestly just burn sometimes.
For a while, I had a timer click it back on and off. At some point I learned kali linux just enough to crack the neighbor's WiFi. There was also the time my BIOS was locked, but I found out there was a jumper circuit on the MB that reset it.
I'm now a very successful software engineer with a long history of devop experience. Shrug
Something that a lot of people in the business setting don't seem to understand.
My work friends are just that... work friends. I have to hide large swaths of my personal life from them and they don't usually stick around outside work. Work relationships suck.
The less you make, the more they tell you exactly what to do, when and how to do it and you lose flexibility. There's no trust.
As I've moved up, I'm largely trusted to know what I'm doing. I can basically set my own hours, do what work I think is impactful and nobody really checks in on me. Some days I accomplish very little and nobody cares, other days, I accomplish a lot.
Bonus points in that I have tons of employee protections (I wouldn't be fired without at least a large severance) and I have so much money saved that I don't need to work for long periods of time. My healthcare is covered and my living finances are less than a quarter of my base salary.
Mountains are the thing.

Mines on the otherhand... mines are where you get fucked.
I have no A/C, run solar power and my heater is extremely efficient. Diesel usually sticks to 2.50ish everywhere right now, but California does get up to 4.00. so that's an extra expense of about $80 a month?
The cost of goods is so low, it barely registers. Housing tends to be the problem.
My expenses don't really change depending on where I park.
The worse we let the pandemic get, the more expensive it will be.
Cutting down trees and 'reforesting' is unlikely to be sustainable over the long term for a variety of reasons (soil depletion, inefficient water use, etc. Forests are their own resource. You can't simply grow them back.
