Kailhus··on Why is AI generated language so hard to understand?
I wonder how they feel about bit flips hah
Kailhus··on Claude Opus 5.5
Yeah, and the same "scene".. Maybe "left to right" makes more sense to portrait a "forward motion"
Kailhus··on We don't use AI in any of our design or production processes
It calls a click handler that pushes a new route that closes the sub info panel the click handler was trying to open in the first place obviously
Kailhus··on The buns in McDonald's Japan's burger photos are all slightly askew
That doesn't seem to bother burger king though: https://www.burgerking.co.jp/menu

I have not experienced any issues with Gemini 3.1 Pro.
Kailhus··on Modern CSS Code Snippets: Stop writing CSS like it's 2015
Absolutely. So no thank you, I won't stop writing CSS like it's 2015 if those features aren't at least supported by all latest browsers.
Kailhus··on France's homegrown open source online office suite
The arts look a lot like Ankama work https://www.ankama.com
Kailhus··on ChatGPT conversations still lack timestamps after years of requests
Yeah, that's a valid point though some text on a page can easily be made unselectable via css (html?). I think through user-select
Kailhus··on ChatGPT conversations still lack timestamps after years of requests
That's no excuse imho. I see 2 different endpoints, 1 for llm stream and 1 for msg history (with stamps). New timestamps could be added FE as new messages start without polluting the user input for example
Kailhus··on Show HN: Minimalist editor that lives in browser, stores everything in the URL

Checked it out out of curiosity and it feels very much close to native
Kailhus··on John Carmack on mutable variables
Yep, I believe you'd need to call Object.seal(foo) to prevent mutability. Haven't really had the chance to use it
Kailhus··on Daniel Kahneman opted for assisted suicide in Switzerland
This hit me harder than I thought it would.
Kailhus··on Styling an HTML dialog modal to take the full height of the viewport
A fair few will also just reset all css to avoid having to deal with different browsers opinionated stylings.
Kailhus··on The man who spent forty-two years at the Beverly Hills Hotel pool (1993)
Made me laugh, “what the? No way, what if.. eh!? And maybe..” crash

Kailhus··on Ask HN: Life-changing purchases since 2020? (Under $100 and under $1000)
And don’t mess with your gums as much as. Learnt my lessons after having the pain of my life due to receding gums, switch with sensitive toothpaste and it’s much better now but they never really fully heal. Take care of your gums people!
Kailhus··on A plain-text way to get your point across quickly and artfully in the browser
I think the main page overlay needs 100dvh rather vh unit to account for mobile devices with navigation bars
Kailhus··on Meta Movie Gen
Not so much stutter here but definitely some layout shifts as images/video elements load :/
Kailhus··on What excessive screen time does to the adult brain
Best thing I’ve done is configure my iphone to not ring but just softly vibrate for calls/texts with “custom taps” and removed any “pending notifications” app badges to avoid this sense ouf urgency. Only thing left is silent breaking news from the Guardian and app notifications on the Lock Screen I can quickly glance at and discard in a tap.
Kailhus··on LinkedIn is now using everyone's content to train their AI tool
UK here. Both were enabled too
Kailhus··on JavaScript dates are about to be fixed

No, I really struggle to make sense of it too.. the CGTV is perfectly fine, why “retire” it
Kailhus··on AT&T says criminals stole phone records of 'nearly all' customers in data breach
Which does make me wonder why we never really hear of banks being attacked and robbed in such a way? One would think they would be the most obvious targets to throw an army of criminals at.
Kailhus··on Changes to Stripe Billing
Adyen is probably the closest one. Had no issue integrating and theirs docs were good
Kailhus··on Napster sparked a file-sharing revolution 25 years ago
1. Paramount pre sex press obviously! 2. Same here, geo-blocking is the worst.

Sill down. “…Visit http://trust.salesforce.com for current system status and availability.”
Kailhus··on Food labels and the lies they tell us about ‘best before’ expiration dates (2021)
Hm, I’m guilty of picking up the sliced bread at the back because I know it’ll last longer and involve less waste on my part. I guess they should produce less then?
