LeChuck··on September 2026: The world today, as seen by one Polish guy
That's a nice conspiracy theory you have there.

Which former employer is going to make a quick buck? The grid operator or the grid operator lobbyist? Besides, who is going to profit from a price spike when the whole point is that the summer-winter spread is inverted, so no one expects to make money from injecting?

LeChuck··on Dutch central bank moves share of gold from U.S., Canada to London
Jeez dude. If you have a point to make, just make it. This weird sarcasm is borderline unreadable. Anyway, everyone agrees with you that FIFA is a corrupt cesspool. The fact that Trump found a corrupt counterparty does not make his open and blatant corruption any less, well, corrupt. The point here is that if he’s openly abusing his power for something so trivial, what is he doing behind closed doors?
LeChuck··on Evidence of Fraud in an Influential Study About Procrastination
It's shocking to me how badly the data was falsified. You'd think a researcher who is A. well versed in statistics and B. has seen a lot of actual research data would be able to produce more believable data. Does this mean we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg? how many papers are based on hard to detect falsifications?

Well worth a visit, oddly touching in a way.

LeChuck··on Germany Overtakes US in Ammunition Production Capacity
This is a great way to put it. Also, confusing having the most powerful army with having an all powerful army.
LeChuck··on Smoking ban for people born after 2008 in the UK agreed
Sure, maybe, arguably. Does it matter though? A world without smoking is still better than a world with smoking, right?
LeChuck··on Europe has "maybe 6 weeks of jet fuel left"
Due to cost, not shortage.
LeChuck··on Europe has "maybe 6 weeks of jet fuel left"
KLM is citing fuel price, not shortage. They’re cutting under utilized flights which they cannot perform profitably at current prices. They’ve explicitly said it’s not because of a shortage.

LeChuck··on Gold overtakes U.S. Treasuries as the largest foreign reserve asset
Also, never explicitly stating their point. Only asking leading questions.
LeChuck··on Department of State advises Americans worldwide to exercise increased caution
Has been the case for decades:

http://exiledonline.com/we-the-spiteful/

>The left won’t accept this awful truth about the American soul, a beast that they believe they can fix “if only the people knew the Truth.”

>But what if the Truth is that Americans don’t want to know the Truth? What if Americans consciously choose lies over truth when given the chance–and not even very interesting lies, but rather the blandest, dumbest and meanest lies? What if Americans are not a likeable people? The left’s wires short-circuit when confronted with this terrible possibility; the right, on the other hand, warmly embraces Middle America’s rank soul and exploits it to their full advantage. The Republicans know Americans better than the left. They know that it’s not so much Goering’s famous “bigger lie” that works here, but the dumber and meaner the lie, the more the public wants to hear it repeated.

LeChuck··on Department of State advises Americans worldwide to exercise increased caution
Ports did indeed have very little security before 2001 (compared to now). See ISPS code: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Ship_and_Port_Fa...

"Forward, the Light Brigade!"

Leadership isn't about avoiding mistakes—it's about unwavering commitment to the mission.

Was there a team member dismayed? Even when the data suggested a pivot was needed, the team stayed aligned.

In today’s fast-paced corporate landscape: It’s not about questioning the "why." It’s about execution and results.

They didn't just "show up"—they leaned in and gave 110% until the very end.

Into the valley of Death rode the six hundred.

Are you building a culture of radical accountability? Let’s discuss in the comments!

LeChuck··on Porsche sold more electrified cars in Europe in 2025 than pure gas-powered cars
Indeed. I cannot charge my car at home so I drive a PHEV. I use public chargers when one is available on my street. If not, no problem. I’d say about 80% of my daily driving is done on the battery, which is a lot better than 0!
LeChuck··on Denmark sends military reinforcements to Greenland
Congress can, Trump cannot.
LeChuck··on Denmark sends military reinforcements to Greenland
> I think the best outcome would really be the US' current allies are just waiting until trump goes and he doesn't break too much and the new person goes back to a more stable posture.

I’m afraid that ship has sailed. This was the general feeling during Bidens’ presidency. After Trump’s reelection, it’s clear that the USA is permanently one swing state away from electing a tyrant. I think the rest of the world will need to see a widely held conviction of never again and fundamental changes to America’s democratic system, before trust can be rebuilt.

LeChuck··on Allow me to introduce, the Citroen C15
No, I’m saying you’re right. A pickup is much more usefull for that.
LeChuck··on Allow me to introduce, the Citroen C15
Indeed. When is was remodeling my house, I bought an old van for €2000,- (the successor to the C15, actually) *

I had no compunction to fill it with debris, earth, sand etc. but that’s not something your European tradesman does. He uses a separate trailer.

LeChuck··on Allow me to introduce, the Citroen C15
Yes, lane keeping can be quite annoying. I regularly drive a road with side markings but no center marking. The car interprets this as a single lane and constantly tugs my steering wheel into oncoming traffic.
LeChuck··on US threatens EU digital services market access
A bit of a tangent here. I'm not a native English speaker but is it me or is this text badly written?

> The European Union and certain EU Member States have persisted in a continuing course of discriminatory and harassing lawsuits, taxes, fines, and directives against U.S. service providers.

Persisted in a continuing course, saying the same thing twice.

> In stark contrast, EU service providers have been able to operate freely in the United States for decades, benefitting from access to our market and consumers on a level playing field.

"Benefiting" is spelled with one t.

> If the EU and EU Member States insist on continuing to restrict, limit, and deter the competitiveness of U.S. service providers through discriminatory means...

Again, restricting and limiting mean the same thing. Also, can you deter competitiveness?

LeChuck··on The Gorman Paradox: Where Are All the AI-Generated Apps?
Theory of Constraints right there. Producing faster than the slowest resource in the chain is detrimental to the entire process. You waste resources and create difficulties upstream.

LeChuck··on World emissions hit record high, but the EU leads trend reversal
Will we?
LeChuck··on Port of Los Angeles says shipping volume will plummet 35% next week
It happens all the time but it’s more useful to think in terms of container flows getting rerouted. Container ships sail in fixed loops so have containers on board for multiple ports. It often happens that the order in which the ports are called (the rotation) is changed, or a particular port gets skipped all together. Reasons can be congestion, delays in previous ports, etc. etc. The line can choose to transship the cargo, so pick it up with a second ship to carry it to destination, have the customer pick it up in the new location (possibly with a rebate) or truck/rail it to the final destination themselves.
LeChuck··on US Ends Support For Ukrainian F-16s
There is absolutely no rational reason for the US to align itself with Russia at the cost of its relationship with Europe.
LeChuck··on What if America turned off Britain's weapons?
It very much looks like Europe and US are not allies anymore. I don’t believe there’s a strategy here. I believe that Trump and his electorate are simply much more closely aligned, ideologically speaking, to Russia than to the EU.
LeChuck··on Zelensky leaves White House after angry meeting
This is a simplistic, even childlike, view of the relationship between the US and Europe. The situation is the way it is because the US wanted it like that. Statesman like Dean Acheson and George Marshall designed it this way. To throw 75 years of relative peace and stability away because you feel it’s unfair? A world that revolves around American military, economic and cultural power, and uses the U.S. dollar as its reserve currency unfair? It galls me that small, arrogant, petty people with no notion of history are throwing all this away because they have a schoolyard understanding of fair and unfair.
LeChuck··on Introducing a terms of use and updated privacy notice for Firefox
Mozilla's goals are still much more aligned with my own than any other browser vendor. Not even close. It's not a betrayal, it's a difference of opinion between friends.

Edit: If that. I personally think this Terms of Use thing is a storm in a teacup.

LeChuck··on Introducing a terms of use and updated privacy notice for Firefox
It's fascinating how any Firefox thread here inevitably devolves into accusations that Mozilla has abandoned users and a push to switch to alternatives, despite Mozilla working in the interest of users to a infinitely greater degree than any other major browser vendor.
