And it is federated so when the biggest Lemmy instance starts to suck, Lemmy can be the Lemmy replacement, too.
I understand that mentioning it on popular subreddits is verboten.
So it's not an apples-to-apples comparison.
Turns out that the warts are the incorporation of the lessons learned. For this reason, just before Wayland fulfills its destiny and becomes an immaculate replacement for X11, a new generation of developers will determine Wayland's codebase is too complex to comprehend and must be rewritten from scratch.

Scrooge McDuck lived by the credo: "Work smarter; not harder."
But for many people, smarter is harder.
It is vexing to see ports of N64 games and Quake requiring OpenGL 4 (or better) hardware for no discernible reason other than the version number is bigger. Eyes on you, Ironwail.
Checking ID on election day is more likely to enable election fraud than prevent voter fraud.
> That astonished me. Too busy to look at a problem he had been dreaming about for 19 years? “I am genuinely busy and probably wouldn’t be able to get to reading a human’s proof immediately either,” he told me afterward, by email. “It does not help that AI does not write mathematics particularly well.”
Given:
* The human mathematicians can't solve the problems.
* The slop engine can't write well enough to make its purported solutions readable by human mathematicians.
* Sam Altman is a frivolous liar.
How is it possible to know whether the problems have been solved at all?
Or spend a lifetime reading and re-reading them non-trivially.
"My definition of a great story has nothing to do with 'a varied and interesting background.' It is: One that can be read with pleasure by a cultivated reader and reread with increasing pleasure."

I don't, since I read their privacy policy[0] before deciding to never use their software. Might I add: VSCodium[1] exists.
Strange to read "I grew up using Hammer." when I still see Hammer as a newfangled update to Worldcraft.
No Quake map editor will let you do anything the Quake engine can't, of course.
If you draw your maps on paper first, as id Software did[0], then the editor you use doesn't matter so much.
J.A.C.K.[1] is the current torchbearer for the Hammer lineage.
Also there is a community fork of Trenchbroom[2] that exists because Trenchbroom includes slop. Or "machine generated code" or "wAIfu generated code" or however salves your feelings.
"The map editor everybody uses" is reductionist.
This administration does not merit any presumption of regularity.
Speaking of thought-terminating cliches...
