VoiceOfWisdom··on Today we’re eating the winners of the 1948 Chicken of Tomorrow contest
The chickens kept in a factory farm are different from what most people keep at home.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Time to sunburn
My family(except for one brother) and I have completely cut all seed oils out for the last year. No longer burn at all, except for the brother that has not. He goes inside looking like a lobster.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Heart inflammation cases in young men higher than expected after mRNA vaccines
Its in testing right now.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Programming is hard
Modaphanil and ephedrine are my drugs of choice for this.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Bitcoin surpasses $50K as major companies jump into crypto
How would you suggest hedging against the death of fiat currency without buying a non fiat currency?
VoiceOfWisdom··on Physical attractiveness bias in the legal system (2017)

VoiceOfWisdom··on Physical attractiveness bias in the legal system (2017)
Yes, lets take the already limited bandwidth of conversation and hack out more parts of it.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Ask HN: Which configuration management software would/should you use in 2020?
Morph is lovely because it ends up being a very thin layer over the existing Nix toolkit. All it does is deploy your NixOS config to a remote machine.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Colt is ending production of AR-15s
It got fixed.

VoiceOfWisdom··on Ask HN: Are you ok?
Read the sidebar. You get one victim-puke on /r/askmrp. You will get your shit pushed in, but it will make you a better man. No one has the answers for you, but the tools are there.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Ask HN: Are you ok?
MRP is pretty different in that regard. Its more about recognizing the ways society tells men to behave that don't actually help them or anyone else.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Ask HN: Are you ok?
Read the sidebar at /r/marriedredpill/. I think you would benefit from reading No More Mr Nice Guy, and When I Say No, I Feel Guilty. Don't be turned off by the red pill language.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Capital One attacker may have breached other major corporations
If you are already a felon for owning a gun, why the hell would you own a bumpstock? Just go full giggle at that point.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Judge Gives E-Cigarette Makers 10 Months to Seek FDA Review
Because there definitely isn't any other way to consume marijuana other than smoking it.
VoiceOfWisdom··on The forgotten joy of soap
I shave my armpits and intently wash them about once a month. Really helps cut down on the post gym smell.
VoiceOfWisdom··on OCaml 4.08
I have not been using OCaml, but I have been using Reason / Bucklescript on Windows extensively. Other than some expectation that GNU tools like cp are available on the path, everything has worked beautifully.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Human Skeletal Muscle Possesses an Epigenetic Memory of Hypertrophy (2018)
Correct, it does. Bodybuilders have known this for years.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Common Muscular Weaknesses
ATHLEAN-X has a great video on the mechanics, and how to fix it [0].

VoiceOfWisdom··on Harry’s Will Be Sold to Owner of Schick for $1.37B
Part of the draw of a safety razor is the weight. You aren't supposed to push it against your face, just let it glide across your skin with its own weight pushing down. By going to a plastic body you lose that weight, and have to replace it with applied pressure. Requires more dexterity than just letting the razor glide.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Base Web, Uber’s New Design System for Building Websites in React
FYI, Material UI is working on the issue as well [0].

VoiceOfWisdom··on Facebook Asking for Some New Users' Email Passwords
I remember Quicken doing it back in the early 2000s.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Winter War
Other than the mouse over issue, I love the format of the site. Very readable, and it greatly expanded my understanding of the war.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Winter War
I would add an overlay to the images prompting people to mouse over for more text, and then hide it once they have done it once. It lacks discoverability as it is currently.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Why are glasses so expensive? The eyewear industry prefers to keep that blurry
https://www.zennioptical.com/ is what my wife uses. She pays for all the special coatings, anti glare, anti oil. Ends up being about 50$ a pair. She loves them, and I think they look cute.
VoiceOfWisdom··on New Scooter Removal Service Appears
"24/7 Free Removal of Unwanted Scooters or Bikes on your Property"

Looks like they only remove scooters that are being left on private property. I would think its completely legal for the land owner to remove the scooter, therefore having another service remove them for you and charge for storage would be fine as long as the rate is not extortionate.

VoiceOfWisdom··on Nicotinamide riboside effects on aging similar to caloric restriction
Beware the niacin flush. Once I took 500mg, after having already been accustomed to the flush. It hit hard that day though. 15 minutes after taking the pill, while driving, my vision started to narrow and go black. It felt like being chocked out. I was rapidly losing consciousness, but was able to safely pull over to the side of the road. Before completely passing out I was able to vomit up what was left of the pill. I was able to return home, and sleep for the rest of the day. This was with a single 500mg pill, after already being used to the flush.
VoiceOfWisdom··on Three girls, a dead raccoon, and a crockpot
Not the OP, but I was homeschooled. I was in a local homeschool co-op that taught classes that we're better in a group setting. Had a lot of friends there. Was also programmer for a FIRST robotics team, where I met my now wife. I never struggled to socialize as a kid. Homeschooled for my entire education.
