Zecc··on The Goose Programming Language
You might want to update https://strlen.com/language-design-overview/ at some point.
Zecc··on The Goose Programming Language
I will take a better look at Goose some time later when it's not late at night. Just wanted to drop by and thank you for creating Treesheets. I haven't given its more advanced features the use they deserve, but I love it as a note-taking application for anything that complexity-wise sits between a short outline in a plain text file and a ton of Markdown in something more advanced like Obsidian. And for, of course, any tabular data.
Zecc··on Show HN: SimCity, but with Permits
https://mods.factorio.com/mod/administratorio

For those wondering. I haven't played, nor am I planning to. I already suck at vanilla Factorio, tyvm.

Zecc··on The Folders Programming Language
> I'm guessing this is a joke

How dare you accuse the creator of the Folders programming language of not being serious!

Zecc··on Ask HN: Are you a subscribed LLM or a locally deployed open-source model?
I am neither. I am an actual human person.
Zecc··on Google Playground: Create and play custom games
How long until it appears in https://killedbygoogle.com?
Zecc··on 37,500 border drawings: a map of the world as people remember it
I'm giving Worldoku a shot. I'm fairly familiar with country flags, if I may say so myself, as I play Flagle, Worldle and Geozee. And I'm no stranger to Sudoku and Murdoku either. And yet I find this is breaking my brain somehow and I'm struggling a bit to keep the board's state in my head. Maybe I just need more practice.

I do love the concept and I'll try playing more than one assuming I can finish the one I've started. :)

Zecc··on TiddlyInstall: A universal, reusable, install system
Perhaps so you could spend more time with your loved ones, or doing literally anything else, instead of talking to a machine? Just saying.
Zecc··on Steam Frame starts at $1059
I can't believe you forgot the toilet.
Zecc··on Show HN: Everything a web page can learn about you, in plain English
If they are too aggressive with their bitcoin mining, you might not come back.
Zecc··on Mexican student creates an acoustic fire extinguisher to put out fire in seconds
Right. Because IP addresses uniquely identify people. /eyeroll
Zecc··on The Silo · interactive 3D cutaway
Bottom? Just the fact that there is that first selector button is a huge spoiler. Not to mention the title that briefly appears before fading out. Not going to be more specific than this to not ruin the show for people who haven't seen it yet.
Zecc··on The art of CHIP-8
The comic was last updated a decade ago. I've added it to my RSS feeder without getting my hopes up. I was really getting into the story too.
Zecc··on Death to px, long live ch
Maybe a website is selling screws and wants to show a 1:1 picture.
Zecc··on How a Texas student blew the whistle on a rogue AI hacking attempt
And? Are you suggesting the driving of bulldozers shouldn't be regulated?
Zecc··on Japan tried to build an operating system for the world, the US intervened
The title is certainly clickbait-y. But the content is still interesting. And not sloppy.
Zecc··on Intriguing stories in computer science
It's not a myth, as far as I can tell. Note I didn't say they invented the term (though, granted, I inadvertently did imply it I suppose). In any case it likely helped popularize it.
Zecc··on How does IKEA come up with names for its products?
Move further west, and "trampa" means "excrement" in Portuguese. Usually used in the figure sense, rather then literal.
Zecc··on Intriguing stories in computer science
1947: Harvard engineers working on the Mark II computer find a moth stuck to one of the relays. They tape it to a logbook and write "First actual case of a bug being found" and introduce the words 'bug' and 'debug' in the context of programming.

Zecc··on Gmail might partially be to blame for receiving emails from other Sean Conners
This reminds me of why I'm very nervous I've been able to login to LinkedIn by just click an email LinkedIn sent me; and to someone else's Netflix account from an email that was sent to me by mistake.

You _could_ blame the users for not setting up 2FA. But two wrongs don't make a right, and these websites should always ask for another means of authentication, even if it's just a password. Url parameters in links don't count.

Zecc··on Dithered QR Codes
I recognize the domain name from playing some of his daily puzzles, namely Ronin and Cell Tower.

Zecc··on Zig Creator Calls Spade a Spade, Anthropic Blows Smoke
That was a pretty good car analogy. Thank you.

Edit to add: I'm unsure where assembly would sit in this analogy. Skateboard? Monocycle? Perhaps ice skates.

Zecc··on Alternate clock designs and time systems
> we have 8 fingers

In English. I'm Portuguese, so I have twenty fingers.

Zecc··on Triple Dragon Fractal (2020)
I take it he claims to have created these particular pictures of the fractal, which is likely true. And yes, the webpage containing them as well.
Zecc··on Postgres rewritten in Rust, now passing 100% of the Postgres regression tests
You underestimate what people are willing to do just for fun.
Zecc··on A bug which affected only left handed users
Trackballs are a thing as well.
Zecc··on Acronym Fatigue Series Introduction: why I'm wary of acronyms
Big Hairy Audacious Goal was a new one to me.
Zecc··on The short leash AI coding method for beating Fable
> Solipsism is essentially the one certainty that every mind out there has.

Not I. I'm just a Boltzmann brain.

Zecc··on What to learn to be a graphics programmer
> be aware that there are too many bad game engines. In Rust land, where I am, there are three failed renderers, one unfinished one, and the one inside the Bevy engine. Those are the major projects.

Where does Fyrox sit in this?

Zecc··on Have you restarted your computer this week?
Same here. But I hibernate it, which defeats the purpose.
