agos··on Why is AI generated language so hard to understand?
you can set the writing stile to "concise" all you want in the settings of all the LLMs and you still get a wall of text.
agos··on Removing Next.js Got My Blog to 100 on Every Lighthouse Category
Liveview is neat, but it still has quite some raw edges - and it’s not really meant for SSG which is the topic at hand

Any web components solution is probably going to be as big as React
agos··on When the Term "Heatwave" Is No Longer Enough
This summer I’ve seen many people miffed (or worse) but the usage of the Italian equivalent of “heatwave” in the media coverage: both general news and meteorologists insisted that “the fourth heat wave was finally passing” or that “a fifth heat wave was looming” while the general experience was that it was insufferably hot from may until September, with little to no relief. It felt like a cruel joke.
agos··on Tell HN: I unknowingly broke the PHP RCE embargo. I am sorry.
You don’t have to wait for an HN post to run that, though
agos··on Tesla profits drop 43% in Q3
The only way to be more explicit and literal about it would have been to make the car jump a shark instead of trucks
agos··on The Other Epidemic: Trying to get off benzodiazepines
A pill of Valerian is enough to make it hard for me to wake up after eight hours of sleep. I can’t imagine how powerful benzos are or what he’ll are the people taking them going through
agos··on The Other Epidemic: Trying to get off benzodiazepines
Yeah, that’s a classic dilemma doctors have to face. Even my gastroenterologist stopped giving me details as soon as she convinced herself my issues were due to anxiety (they were not, but that’s another story).
agos··on Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly Report GLP-1 Signals of Slowed Biological Aging at ARDD
you're treating obesity as a moral failure which is not helpful to the people with the problem, not really supported by science, and frankly a not great position to hold in general. Stop thinking about "blame" in the context of health issues and maybe try to see what helps the people who live with those issues.
agos··on Nordwand Mono – A monospace font for coders and adventurers
+1 for another happy customer. I still wish there was a wider version with all the same bells and whistles, though!
agos··on Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly Report GLP-1 Signals of Slowed Biological Aging at ARDD
lifestyle changes like you envision are notoriously difficult. if I wanted to single one out, "eat less" is clearly non trivial, since every fat person ever is aware of it and has tried it, but "trying" is not the part that gives the result.
agos··on Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly Report GLP-1 Signals of Slowed Biological Aging at ARDD
If these changes were “trivial” everybody would be doing it
agos··on Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly Report GLP-1 Signals of Slowed Biological Aging at ARDD
If it was easily preventable there wouldn’t be rising obesity

Healthy people are not healthy because of a rigorous discipline that unhealthy people are missing, though
agos··on Redesigning source control at Anthropic
This, so much. Even really important stuff like their GitHub integration, which works completely differently in Claude desktop, claude code from Desktop client, and Claude code from CLI
agos··on Redesigning source control at Anthropic
Thinking harder (in the sense of LLMs) also can lead to over engineering and including irrelevant work, in my experience
agos··on Redesigning source control at Anthropic
So they are proving that this model of development isn’t really sustainable. I think this blog is a colossal self own “look at what we need to do to make it work!”
agos··on Ledger confirms spy chip implant behind wallet crypto thefts
because the longer they wait, the higher the chance of being discovered before they're able to steal anything. I'm sure there's some game theory about this
agos··on OpenAI fires three safety researchers for "mishandling research information"
Do you remember the blog they made about the Apple lawsuit? The lawyers are probably still busy handling that
agos··on Utah to let AI examine patients and prescribe medication without human oversight
I'm sorry, it sounds needlessly rough. I wholeheartedly agree that less paternalism would help us all (I'm still bitter at the insane level of paternalism displayed by my country during COVID)
agos··on 2027 Web Platform Feature Ranking
It should be noted that as of now there are pretty good ways to deal with the cascade

Saying “this is subtly wrong” won’t do much in the training data for the same generation. Lots of this expertise is closed source for understandable reasons
agos··on Tumbler Ridge shooter's ChatGPT use "more disturbing" than known: reporter
And yet at the mere suggestion of cyber security they cut you off
agos··on Utah to let AI examine patients and prescribe medication without human oversight
Then why do they need a prescription from a doctor in the first place?

agos··on GitHub's new dashboard experience now the default
the cognitive dissonance between “software engineering is a solved problem” and the state of software everywhere (still pretty crappy, maybe even worse than a couple of years ago) is staggering
