When i read the first few words of your message i thought you were going to say that the model naming is just as bad as the coffee cup size naming.

honestly an apple watch + airpods is basically that.
alooPotato··on English ↔ Claudish Translator
My guess is its the employees distinctive style. They must be using some internal data in their post training
alooPotato··on Abdominal fat predicts heart disease risk better than BMI
What’s the latest on better ecg tech? Can’t an Apple Watch basically do it but they can’t call it that because it’s not approved.
alooPotato··on Abdominal fat predicts heart disease risk better than BMI
What does that have to do anything. The recommendation is to do a blood panel every year I don’t see anything worse about adding ecg to that
alooPotato··on Abdominal fat predicts heart disease risk better than BMI
Huh? I get a blood panel every year and 90% of the things it looks for are normal year after year. But there is always 1 or 2 things flagged that I need to pay attention to.

An ECG if it was just part of the normal yearly panel of things that get looked at I don't think ppl will stop doing it just because it doesn't find something right away

alooPotato··on Stateless MCP has recaptured my interest
The user experience for a rest api and for mcp can be the same. For MCP, you have to give the mcp server url. For REST, you could provide a url to the openapi spec. The open API spec has everything you'd need - oauth url + all the endpoints and params.

Most chat products will just have a directory of connectors anyways - so for non technical folks they won't even here the term MCP or REST, they'll just "Install the Gmail plugin".

alooPotato··on Waymo in Dallas
I think we should let autonomous, shared EVs use bus lanes (just like how some cities let taxis use them). They are just so good for society.
alooPotato··on Waymo in Dallas
There is a limit on how many they are allowed to operate.
alooPotato··on Waymo in Dallas
Just scale your small bus further down and you get a cybercab/waymo. It gets full easily but its routes are fully customizable and you never have to change lines and it runs at all hours with no wait. Ohh and its actually way cheaper to run per passenger mile. IMO shared, electric, autonomous AVs are the best solution for mass transit for 90% of the routes

ok sorry - can you explain more why it'd be a game changer to stream the tool call. Whats an example tool call that this would help with. Most of the time the tools I want called are at the end of the conversation (i.e. "summarize what we talked about and email it to me"). Or if its in the middle of the conversation, we can just carry on the conversation while the tool call is happenning in parallel..
alooPotato··on GPT‑Live
honestly its not that big of a deal, being able to call tools is the high order bit

alooPotato··on SpaceX to buy Cursor for $60B
Not a sound argument because you would have said the same thing before they did Starlink. "The TAM for launch services is finite. There are only so many countries/companies that want to launch satellites."

that doesn't, on its own, alleviate the cannibalization concerns
alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
You’re joking right? Do you have kids?
alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
I don't get how that works - quick look online: https://preview.redd.it/team-minivan-who-is-with-me-v0-oxprg...

That's one bike, with only 3 available seats and the front tire taken off. How would you do 4?

alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
Yup
alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
You’re avoiding the point of the question. Do you think you hand driving in any other car is safer for your kids than having fsd drive? Yes or no.

If you’re answer is fsd is safer for your kids then fine, you choose to trade off some (maybe marginal safety) in order to not support a company you don’t like. I understand that. If your answer is that hand driving is safer, then I don’t know how to convince you otherwise because having used it and seeing the published data it’s so much obviously safer than me driving. And I’ve been driving for 30+ years

alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
Huh? What specific car would you recommend given the needs I stated?
alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
So I take it the answer to my question is no you haven’t used FSD
alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
have you tried FSD and blue cruise?
alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
for your kids safety, would you rather do 30,000 miles in HW4 FSD in a Tesla or hand driven in any other car of your choosing? doing 30K miles in a waymo isn't an option.
alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
what!?!? you're completely wrong.

And you def need to hang surfboards and bikes out the back in other trucks.

alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
i have the awd drive one not the stripped down one, maybe thats a big difference. I havent driven the rwd one
alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
air suspension, heated and air cooled comfortable leather seats, 15 high quality speakers, everything is soft to the touch (minus the window switches), super fast high quality software (that alone is a huge draw for me, most other cars have terrible software)

honestly don't need much more than that - yes it doesn't have a fridge or massaging seats or whatever, but thats usually in cars with a higher price point too

alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
Have you ridden in a cybertruck?

I've owned several luxury SUVs (volvo, mercedes), a porsche 911 and an s class (admittedly a while ago). The cybertruck to me feels in the same league. I know older/cheaper teslas might not be the same but try the Cybertruck - I think you'd be surprised. Its very comfortable.

alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
maybe this is an HN thing, but how would you bring your kids/wife and 4 bikes inside a minivan?
alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
yes it does. i do it. as do surfboards. you just toss it all in the back and let shit hang out.
alooPotato··on Tesla is recalling its cheaper Cybertruck because the wheels might fall off
also is comma.ai legit - like would you put your kids in a car driven by it? do they publish safety stats like waymo and fsd
