Imagine you're a character in a Lord of the Rings novel. And math is the imaginary landscape that you are going on an adventure through. When a number is irrational, it is not easy to work with compared to natural numbers. So they're marking the map as a hard pass in the mountain ridge that is on your journey, assuming you want to explore that world.
I wonder if dry reading means written without the influence of drink. I couldn't find an answer online. But, if so, it would be ironic to describe a stat book that ignored a brewer as dry.
The results seem so clinical or academic now. I want to read what freaks write. I often add the word reddit to my search or other platforms tags to get more opinionated and personal content.
"I know very little about actual physics, but generally speaking the more grandiose headlines sound the less I pay attention…"
You've managed to find the words that I couldn't find to explain how I feel. Thank you.
If a spectrum is just a range of numbers, then the idea of spectrum should apply to many phenomenon. Many things can be described by a number. So, when matrix spectrum and atomic spectrum were formulated, perhaps spectrum was a word that was in vogue to describe a quantity. I think this is the explanation of the reason the same term is used for both. Because many connected phenomenon can be quantified. I know only a little about matrix spectrum and atomic spectrum, so take my thought with a grain of salt.
I do agree that just because people describe their experience as different, that is not a convincing argument that it is very different. Sometimes people don't understand what other people are describing or assume too much. In my opinion, I think if we were to live inside someone else's mind for a day, depending on who that other person is, we may not recognize the world as the same world. I believe people are more different than many people know. Some people may be similar inside, but some people may be extremely different inside. Like you, I would also like to know more about this.
Do what YOU really want to do so if things go wrong later you're not resentful about not having tried for what you wanted? It's harder to have regrets if you tried for what you really wanted.
Anyone who knows, how will censorship play out in the future? Even censorship by private companies, I don't care how people are silenced, I'm still curious about the effects. Edit: can someone explain the effects of this kind of event that the thread is discussing? whatever you want to call it
It could be that more complex phenomenon don't have a simple explanation. It could be that they do. But, just because I would like a why, doesn't mean that there is one. (Personally I think there is a why.)
I think people confuse having state of the art knowledge of nutrition with knowing how all of nutrition works. There may be good arguements that this is safe, but history will decide that.
I think the optimal or universal language is more difficult in practice than in idealism. Reading is the art of sorting through the mess in any field, and acquiring context. I think a lot of this underestimates the complexity and nuance of language for any field.
Should they ban religious and spiritual videos too? Who decides what is real? Are ideas the coming warground? These questions sound dramatic, but I wonder about this stuff.
