antonioe··on The Power of Mechanical Turk
This is actually in violation with Mturks TOS. You cannot ask for personally identifiable information. They could ban your Amazon account.
antonioe··on The True Cost of Commuting
Wordpress DB Error

Here is the Web Cache: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:IsMbyPG...

antonioe··on GitHub adds a dashboard showing all issues for all your projects
...and the ability to prioritize issues, burn down, and a standup report would be nice. This is definitely in the right direction.
antonioe··on Ask HN: Hackers Guide to the Stockmarket?
Khan Academy has a bunch of things on markets which I think is pretty digestible for people - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKly7Y1woJs

Etrade has a bunch of videos on the stock market lingo but I think you need an account.

antonioe··on EFF You Yelpers
I hesitated adding this but a few of the reviews are actually obviously pretty poor and some would actually hit the level of libel. Here is an interview with the creator:

antonioe··on See what Google knows about you
Hopefully this will reduce the remarketing ads I keep seeing(doubtful). I click 1 link on HN and then usually it's a YC company fills up all the ad units on every page.

Ahh at least it's better then the get rich quick stuff or the 1-Secret Diet Trick ads on Facebook.

antonioe··on The Xbox Story, Part 1: The Birth of a Console
It's great to be a 30+ year old gamer/entrepreneur who is living thru the console wars. The landscape today feels a lot like it did in late-90's. And this piece give you a great glimpse of the dynamics on building a ground breaking piece of software.
antonioe··on Faceplanting: an app launch horror story with a twist
He mentioned iTunes SEO. Any one knows of any great posts on the subject.
antonioe··on Gmail’s got a beautiful new look and you can try it now
The contrast between the grey and white in such a small space makes it so the eyes can immediate tell the difference between the two.
antonioe··on Gmail’s got a beautiful new look and you can try it now
The new Gmail Preview(dense) Theme is just too light for my eyes. On my 27" screens I have to squint to see which mails are read vs unread.
antonioe··on Ask HN: Best uptime monitor?
Uptrends has a pretty good service. Probes that run every 10 minutes. http://uptrends.com
antonioe··on Ask HN: What to buy a designer as a gift?
Usually I would just go to a museum store. There is always a bunch of items that you wouldn't find normally in a shop.
antonioe··on Amazon Web Services are down
1:23EST and Reddit is back up. Quora/4SQ still down. My site still down.
antonioe··on Amazon Web Services are down
I stand corrected. 4sq down again.
antonioe··on Amazon Web Services are down
Foursquare is up now. Quora not showing the 503 anymore, Reddit still down.
antonioe··on Amazon Web Services are down
Had our blog go down. Didn't realize it was AWS wide..did a reboot. Now I am in reboot limbo. Put an urgent ticket into Amazon. They just said they are working urgently to fix the issues. Let's see how long this goes.
antonioe··on Amazon Web Services are down
To receive a Service Credit, you must submit a request by sending an e-mail message to aws-sla-request @ amazon.com.
antonioe··on Hipmunk Surfacing New $6 Million Round
I think I've booked at least 10 flights thru Hipmunk. Much easier system for the business traveler to understand and plan.

$7mil in this market for seasoned entrepenuers with a product making over 100k a month (their numbers via recent interviews)... not a bad business to invest in.

Let's see how they scale.

antonioe··on Ask HN: RSS to Email Services
Mailchimp has something like this. It's a god send if you've got a constant updates, a bit of css knowledge and a readership.
antonioe··on Ask HN: What are your predictions for 2011?
Quora splashing into normal people's radars. Won't be Twitter's rise but definitely something to watch.
antonioe··on [dead]
Your multiple A/b Split tests, Multi country view is spot on when looking at ad units. Imagine trying to have 1 ad unit for both japanese and a US website.
antonioe··on [dead]
It's in the algorithm. Theirs is better then yours. Trust me on that one.

When a few publishers complain to their adwords representative that they get no conversions from your site a few flags could be raised. Such as a site audit by a Googler.

Make sure you monitor your adsense messages just in case.

antonioe··on Ask HN: How much is my domain worth?
The answer to your question is how much they are will pay.

Also you're in a curious position because if they have filed a Trademark on their name (in US at least not sure about UK) they can file a trademark dispute.

If you came to me and said you were squating on my TM I'd start legal procedures.

Now if they don't have a TM ... Maybe convince them to do a profit share if this new domain rockets them to new search levels. Exact domains have a much higher SEO value. So in truth it could be a win for them. I'd reach out to who ever does their SEO and let he/she be your advocate.

antonioe··on [dead]
Google will negate the click if they are seeing high bounce rates.
antonioe··on Ask HN: If you had to pay ~5$ per month for an online service, what would it be?
A blog alert that would, via email give me a way to email my comments to blog topics I am interested.

So say I am interested in Entrepenuership, NYC Pizza, Van Gogh Paintings. I'd get a nice digest in my mail of that days blogs with a way of commenting on them without leaving my Gmail.

antonioe··on [dead]
Beware showing different squeeze pages based on IP. Google could see that as cloaking.

But good work monetizing a simple site.

antonioe··on Ask HN: What is wrong with our startup?
I am not sure what the site is about. Do a quick video explaining the concept of the site. Also make the homepage a landing page that educates me, gives me a preview, but enticed me to join.
antonioe··on Ideas Without Time/Money - How Can I Make Them Happen?
I'd suggest for you to do some office jujitsu (work on the project while at work). If the project is tech one and you don't have the skill sets yourself, outsource via getacoder/elance. For less then a 1k you probably can get a working alpha for your product.

The key though as nolite mentioned is passion. You cannot be a successful entrepreneur without it. If your wife yell at you and you are passionate enough about what you are doing, yell back.

This is your dream. Make it happen.

antonioe··on Ask HN: Any sales techniques I should learn for my business?
Visit customers. If your not a natural sales person think of it like R+D. Ask questions. See there pain points and try to solve them.
antonioe··on The free throw that defied physics
He was just quoting the wired article which did indeed question the laws of physics.
