arathis··on AI coding has made CI a bottleneck, so we reworked ours to keep up
If we cared about the satisfaction of the worker, we’d never have fast food.
arathis··on Launch HN: Context.dev (YC S26) – API to get structured data from any website
Sure. The first 70% is a piece of cake. Get the last 5% right.
arathis··on EvanFlow – A TDD driven feedback loop for Claude Code
Jesus mate, talk about loaded questions.

“Who are you? How dare you create anything”

arathis··on The only moat left is money?
This whole thread is classic HN. Someone uses a random example to illustrate a point, and the rest of the post is about that.
arathis··on Meta's Zuckerberg faces questioning at youth addiction trial
Blowtorch the creep
arathis··on Halt and Catch Fire: TV’s best drama you’ve probably never heard of (2021)
Sensational show
arathis··on I want to wash my car. The car wash is 50 meters away. Should I walk or drive?
Make no assumptions.

The car wash is 50 meters away. Should I drive or walk?

arathis··on We mourn our craft
The hypocrisy is outstanding.

For years developers have worshipped at the alter of innovation, citing their role in decimating many old industries and crafts as just what we do. Now it’s come for you.

Reap what we sow, people.

arathis··on Coding agents have replaced every framework I used
The hard thing to watch is developers grapple with the idea that what makes them special isn’t so special anymore.
arathis··on Man shot and killed by federal agents in south Minneapolis this morning
It’s murder. They murdered him mate.
arathis··on Raising money fucked me up
A wonderful and personally relevant thing to read.
arathis··on Hyundai Introduces Its Next-Gen Atlas Robot at CES 2026 [video]
What the fuck are you people on about
arathis··on Ask HN: Resources to get better at outbound sales?
Hey, I ran a custom dev agency for a decade. Happy to answer questions
arathis··on Show HN: OCR Arena – A playground for OCR models
Claude would be good!
arathis··on New Mexico is first state in US to offer universal child care
Everything about this thread sums up how brutal America is. It’s wild.
arathis··on New Mexico is first state in US to offer universal child care
Nonsense. Absolute Fucking nonsense.
arathis··on US reportedly forcing TSMC to buy 49% stake in Intel to secure tariff relief
I’m not in the US, so I don’t know what it’s like from the inside but from the outside it’s so comically obvious how straight up stupid and brazen trump and his cronies are that it beggars beleif.

How can so many be so gullible?

arathis··on Figma will IPO on July 31
Hi. Ran a design studio. Used Figma religiously. Having now moved in-house, I’m leaning way more on llms and prototyping.

I don’t think Figma goes way, but I do see it receding.

arathis··on DaisyUI: Tailwind CSS Components
Just switched from Flowbite to Daisy.

It’s far simpler, and I don’t have to mess around as much with defining my own button styles etc.

As with all tech, Tis all a long road to the middle

arathis··on Valve confirms credit card companies pressured it to delist certain adult games
I’d be pro banning of that shit.
arathis··on Apple's Liquid Glass is prep work for AR interfaces, not just a design refresh
This is utter horseshit.

Get a grip.

The total sales of the Vision are a fucking rounding error compared to the sales of the iPhone.

Glass is neither new nor is it some grand strategic vision.

What an embarrassment.

arathis··on Show HN: Muscle-Mem, a behavior cache for AI agents
Hey, working on a personal project. Would love to dig into how you approached this.
arathis··on Ask HN: I feel pessimistic about the future – advice?
Yep
arathis··on Building an AI that watches rugby
Ugh. You’re the worst
arathis··on Show HN: Wall-mounted diffusion mirror that turns reflections into paintings
This is great.
arathis··on Founder Mode, hackers, and being bored by tech
To me, the boredom comes from seeing technology inevitably get corrupted. Self-driving cars turn into self-driving ads, and AI is used to displace jobs or track people. Everything we’re promised eventually falls apart, and I’m tired of where it all leads.

The utopia would be an equitable society, where we work far less than our ancestors did, allowing us to focus on pursuing our interests and desires—not just buying security. But not only does that seem unattainable, it's pursuit is considered laziness or opting-out of a social contract whereby 99% of people fight to make 1% rich with the delusion being that maybe it's me that's the 1% and that with the riches I can score I can ride off into the sunset, and get off this foul ride forever.

Makes me sick how far we don fell.

arathis··on Radiology-specific foundation model
You think the only real reason the public don't get to use this tool is because of greed?

Like, that's the only REAL reason? Not the technological or ethical implications? The dangers in providing people with no real concept of how any of this works the means to evaluate themselves?

arathis··on AirPods Pro 2 adds 'clinical grade' hearing aid feature
Hi.

I work in this space. These don't replace hearing aids. The gap between needing hearing aids due to significant hearing vs degrading of hearing is about a period of 10 years. During this 10 years your hearing is sub-optimal but not necessarily bad enough for expensive hearing aids.

Apple, like others, are not competing with Cochlear.

arathis··on Ask HN: Should we bring software dev in-house?
Hi, I’ve done this exact thing for a client of mine in freight. The approach was similar - build an “internal” team and develop out a replacement product for their customs and general freight systems.

The EDIFACT / EDI stuff is annoying but once you crack that it’s basically CRUD.

The other challenge is ingesting carrier prices and the management of the rates. No carrier has the same format and API’s get mixed results (if they have them!)

arathis··on Financial Statement Analysis with Large Language Models
I think I understood 7 words you just said mister
