I'm currently in a project but just wondering what else is out there. Good competent devs are hard to find. My clients pay US$100+ per hour for my services. Come see what I can do for you. I won't be on the market for long :)
Technologies:
* Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, GoLang, PHP, Python
* Web development, LAMP, jQuery, Mysql, Sqlite, Postgres, Symfony, Amazon AWS
* ReactJS and the usual javascript ecosystem
* React Native, native Android app development
* Good at debugging hard problems (especially those from the field)
* See resume for full list (including soft skills), work history and open source projects (ie. sample code)

Prior to my current gig, I was an Engineering Manager/Software Engineer hybrid (and occasional executive) at a 100% remote US startup for 5 years.
I also have a smattering of side projects.
I know what it's like to work for a tech startup.
I specialise in debugging hard problems which no one else wants to do.

Hi,
Prior to my current gig, I was an Engineering Manager/Software Engineer hybrid (and occasional executive) at a 100% remote US startup for 5 years.
I also have a smattering of side projects.
I have wide ranging experience with software and technology.
I'm a self-motivated person and always learning new things.
I'm a creative thinker who is able to take a multi-disciplinary approach to solving problems.
I don't just do 'software', but also the business, legal, social and startup issues around software. (I'm well-read on startup literature.)
I'm a problem solver. Give me a problem and throw me in the deep end. You don't have to keep checking on me. I'll find a way out. I'll either solve the problem or provide you with the necessary information to make an informed decision.
I specialise in debugging hard problems which no one else wants to do.
I keep myself busy. You can see from my work history that, if not employed, I always have a side project happening. But don't let that deter you. I'm always willing to shuffle my priorities for the right opportunity.
Thank you for reading and hope to hear from you.
(No recruiters please.)
Remote: Yes
Willing to relocate: Doubtful but not ruling it out

Ask HN: How do you discover new stuff? https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27404079
Why do you want 3?
Oh, this is an interesting qualifier. The newsletter is not based solely on HN. There are other sources as well. How much is from HN? I'm not actually sure myself, but I'm gonna attribute some HN links (where applicable) and we'll see.
Also, sometimes a story reaches the front page after it appears in my newsletter because it got re-submitted. Correlation? Don't know.
When I get enough numbers, I'll include a link to a malicious website. Then people click on it and it'll download malware onto their computer. That will seed my botnet and then I can do bad things with it.
I'm not.
It's only delayed when it gets posted to the web archive. Newsletter subscribers get it straight away.
And ... (Full transparency mode) it's to encourage readers to subscribe.
> Considering the source of your content, and lack of attribution; now it's looking shifty.
Please see comments above, particularly https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27493014.
Yes.
I copy-and-paste directly from the newsletter content into the web archives. That's how this artefact gets transferred across.
