blatchcorn··on Amazon will require employees return to the office 3 days a week
I don't want to descend into boomer-bashing, however it is worth acknowledging that the S-team and most senior managers are boomers who bought cheap property that is big enough and close enough to work to raise families. The only chance a lot of young Amazonians have to raise a family is by remote working outside the city. It is quite easy for the S-team and empty nesters to mandate an office return when they are the least impacted by it. Even if the older employees relocated out of the city, they still got to ride the property boom. In contrast this decision forces young people to live (and presumably buy) where property prices have appreciated the fastest.

The site looks great and will come back again. I would like to see more powerful chart features in future: log scale, long-term data, and moving averages. Best of luck.
blatchcorn··on U.S. Secret Service Launches Cryptocurrency Awareness Hub
You have failed to acknowledge or address any of the points I brought to your attention. I didn't think I would change your mind anyhow
blatchcorn··on U.S. Secret Service Launches Cryptocurrency Awareness Hub
I am probably not going to change your mind. But I think some stuff you should consider are:

Is the volatility an inherent problem built into the code and design of bitcoin et al? Or does the volatility stem from external factors like it being new, difficult to value, and much lower market cap then other currencies? I personally believe that bitcoin's volatility is not by design and will not last forever.

Secondly, you should rethink whether comparing bitcoin to fiat is correct (I would suggest gold) and rethink if bitcoin really is deflationary. Bitcoin has a lot of similarities to Gold. Check out this report: https://www.fidelitydigitalassets.com/bin-public/060_www_fid...

There is nothing in bitcoin's code that makes it deflationary. The reward for mining bitcoin does decrease over time, but never does the supply decrease - it only grows or eventually stops growing at 21 million

You make a large assumption that people don't want a permanent log. If the system works then you do want it to be permanent. The only reason why you propose forgetting the transactions of the current system is that it is distorted by politicians. Politicians cannot distorted crypto markets in the same way they can with the USD, therefore is no need to ever forget crypto transactions
blatchcorn··on Inflation surges to its highest since 1990
I see your point in theory but in practice:

- poor people have less money to repay interest on the debt after buying necessities at an inflated price

- interest rates rise following inflation which will increase debt repayment costs and likely offset any benefits gained from debt being inflated away

- it is very rare for 'people' to actually issue loans, I imagine 99.99% of loans are issued by banks

blatchcorn··on Bitcoin is largely controlled by a small group of investors and miners
I am not who you are asking but I want to chime in: the problem is not missing regulation, the problem is the rich decide on regulation and this regulation helps keep them rich.

Specific examples: UK capital gains tax is lower than income taxes. This means if you are born in to a wealthy family and given a £1MM index fund, you will pay less yearly tax on your capital gains while chilling at home all day than someone with a £50K job working hard and contributing to society
