I can't even count how many this I should just apply that. It's an obvious thing but it takes time to getting used to clearly formulating your problems. Search engines are so sofisticated nowadays that you don't even necessarily need to know what you're looking for and it just pops up. I think of it as a sort of hive mind thing, internet became a natural extension of our brains.
When I stopped watching TV/reading any news at all I noticed one thing: I'm less distracted.
Once you realize that media outlets make tremendous amounts of money by selling you their narrative and like any business they're just trying to be as profitable as possible, everything changes.
Nowadays I might read an article or two from people I subscribe to on substack or something more independent, but still I don't feel like it's something that I need at all.
This one hits really hard and I'd love to see more of that content.
Why would one force their interaction with people if it's not genuine.
Don't get me wrong, I'm an art enthusiast myself but I think that if someone is really passionate, they will go out and look for a sponsor themselves that's how it worked over the ages and our cultural heritage as a civilization is quite rich I'd say.
This is especially true for people who have other responsibilities like raising children or caring for elderly relatives.
But that's how every side hustle works, you have to get organized and manage your time well, having children is not an excuse.
This is wrong in so many ways. It will encourage people to basically pretend they're doing some kind of art even if they're not.
If someone is a real artist imo, they will manage. It will be part-time but eventually they will get better and can start making money out of it, and if not then well it can just be their hobby right? Why am I not supposed to be paid for making my own garden look good? Is it art or hobby?
How is a child supposed to learn how to interact with people if you leave them with a device that might in fact teach them something, like counting and stuff, but that's not the case. Until the age of 4-5 your focus should be primarily to make your kid socially acceptable so they can participate in as many activities and get a chance to join as many conversations in the future as possible, you want to help them be social. Giving them a tablet will not help them become socialized at all, in fact it will just turn this around. You don't want that for your child. You want your kid to be liked, otherwise it will end up being miserable, think about it.
Spend every minute of your spare time with your baby, that's the way to do it, help them enter the society, by showing them how to interact with people.
Don't get me wrong, change is good but too much change is just too much to handle sometimes.
