cinntaile··on Early progress on accelerating drug development with Claude
If she's not doing work in the lab because that part is automated, perhaps she would have time for more and better experiment design?
cinntaile··on Practical Compiler Construction, 64-Bit Edition
We have to pay to read the book? I don't get why this is here?
cinntaile··on AI-assisted PCB design for KiCad 10
He released a product, not a PCB. For him that's probably not the part where his creativity is focused on.
cinntaile··on Ask HN: Has anyone decompiled Claude Code yet?
You'll get blocked real quick. I once noticed it was thinking in a different language than the one we were communicating in, when I asked about it the conversation was immediately blocked.
cinntaile··on Delta’s Biscoff cookies were supposed to be temporary
The crunchy spread or the regular spread? I can imagine it works with both, but crunchy sounds extra nice.
cinntaile··on Delta’s Biscoff cookies were supposed to be temporary
Slightly related but you can crumble these cookies and use them as a (cheese)cake bottom. It's nice.
cinntaile··on The RAM shortage is bringing back DDR4
Energy is a commodity so the price will be very similar for the same goods. What they tack on as taxes might be different.
cinntaile··on Protest against housing crisis in Spain
They have to make money so that means yearly price increases for the tenants. It's literal rent extraction while no actual value is being added.
cinntaile··on Florida weighs ditching property taxes and sticking Canadians with the bill
Property taxes make the real estate market function better. If you don't need or use the property, you don't want to keep paying property taxes so you list your property for sale.
cinntaile··on 'This can't go on': thousands protest against housing crisis in Spain
I am sceptical of this kind of central planning. Fighting against organic growth and artificially trying to increase jobs in other cities seems like it would cost a lot more as a whole than trying to solve the problem where it actually exists.
cinntaile··on 'This can't go on': thousands protest against housing crisis in Spain
Build more and higher. Often times people don't want to build higher although they really need to, I hope Madrid is not one of those places.

Ban AirBnB's and ban estate funds from owning homes.

cinntaile··on Ask HN: What are you reading?
Business and self-help books are always 90% fluff and 10% content, not much to do about that.
cinntaile··on Intellectuals Are Fucking Idiots
Ivory tower.

Interesting that it's called silver tower in your language. What's your native language? Is the word for silver and ivory the same? Probably not, but just curious.

cinntaile··on Finally, A True Blue Rose Exists
What I'm wondering is why researchers from a brewing company are interested in creating blue roses? How will they apply this to the brewing craft?
cinntaile··on Tell HN: OpenAI $500 ProMax plan listed in API
That's the next iPhone.
cinntaile··on Europe's "Less" Is Doing More Than Anyone Gives It Credit For
What are the equivalent numbers in the EU? Be sure to compare the same numbers. Usually they're in MtCO2e and not in MtCO2 like in that PDF.
cinntaile··on Copper lined vest to help penguins with recovery
Yes, penguin conservationists do this to scam the penguins... You didn't really think that one through did you.
cinntaile··on ChatGPT Images 2.5
Sure, why not.
cinntaile··on Ask HN: Resources to get good at soldering?
You have very simple fume extractors. I don't get why it would not be worth it just because you rarely do it. It's like wearing a respirator mask when using a grinder. Or ear muffs when drilling or sawing.
cinntaile··on Harvard Professor on Why You Should Learn C in 2026 [video]
Perhaps you could try addressing the arguments instead of irrelevantly focusing on Harvard?
cinntaile··on Ask HN: Hugging Face is out. Who is hosting open models?
As I understand it, you're an investor in Featherless. It's good to mention that.
cinntaile··on USDA recalls 30k pounds of Argentine beef sold in Texas and Florida
That one went right above your head.
cinntaile··on How a giant battery is transforming a town centre in Cannington, Ontario
I don't understand. What's special about being able to charge your phone? Can't you do that anywhere you have a power socket?
cinntaile··on WhatCable: Know what your USB-C cable can do
I think you would need something that tracks relevant per cable metrics over time to see if it is degrading. That one just says yes/no, but maybe yes/no starts to flicker around its end of life?
cinntaile··on In Australia, a home battery boom has helped cut wholesale power prices
Your sibling comment is right. It stands for Levelized Cost Of Electricity.
cinntaile··on In Australia, a home battery boom has helped cut wholesale power prices
You could try using arguments instead of an appeal to authority fallacy?
cinntaile··on Hardware backdoors in some x86 CPUs
It's not as clear cut as you describe it here. In the other old thread you linked there was no real consensus if this should be considered a backdoor or not.
cinntaile··on Why Erdős Problems Are Falling to AI
There is no such thing as the Renaissance Fund. Quanta receives funds from the Simons Foundation... I also don't know where you get it from that Renaissance Technologies is heavily invested in AI. Any sources to back up your claims because I suspect you made all that up?
cinntaile··on Mistral's Shieldstral: 3B open-weights model for multimodal moderation
Another commenter already mentioned that it's more likely a lack of compute and funding that forces their hand to focus on niche tasks.
cinntaile··on Most countries provide between 20 and 40 paid days off
Why does it say 0 for the US? You have Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July and more? Are they unpaid days off?
