Obviously this is just survivorship bias/p-hacking/insert-other-buzzword but can't help but anthropomorphize it, it is hard for me to wrap my head around the idea that the same person who cannot produce code without 2 unrelated bugs both not present does this for someone else.
Imagine a math teacher struggling to understand what he is teaching casually solving a millennium problem, then go back to not understanding what he is teaching, doesn't happen in our world.
I am not confused by any of this, I am just trying to communicate an idea.
I do not see Copilot as useful anyway.
The real issue in gulf is not paying livable wages mainly. Anything else is comparable to farm workers in Europe.
Say you go to your Airbnb, walk the stairs with a woman that could look like a sex worker, the neighbors will consider that disrespectful to be done "in front of their kids", and they will call the police on you. However not sure if that's enough to warrant the police entering your house, so they might just talk to you and ask you to be considerate or give you a warning.
Does crypto have issues? yes. Is it good enough that in occasion it was my preferred payment method? yes.
Crypto community and companies are maybe bad, but if you zoom out into IT overall there is a fair share of greed and misuse. The internet is full of scams, gurus selling courses with false claims, spam emails that drain your grandpa's account, affiliate programs with 70% margin to sell fake products from questionable weight loss ebooks with health-harming diets to fragrances claiming to be perfumes that attract females supported by endless fake video testimonies, online communities encouraging hate, demoralization, and lack of belief in society.
Seem to me that those articles are nothing but status quo bias, does crypto has bad aspects? yes, is it worse than say internet? I don't know.
There is a couple of accounts that use the same attractive face in totally unrelated videos, like 1 second of it, in all their videos just to bait the algorithm and it works.
2. We can go into lower levels and find a number of ISPs specially level 1 ones being able to disrupt the Bitcoin network. Some other single points of failure I can imagine are common routers firmware.
Can Bitcoin never be disrupted? no, does it have mechanisms in place that make it unlikely to be disrupted? yes.
Also the word is "disrupt" so it means some time of chaos, the mining pools never tried to disrupt Bitcoin because they have no incentive to do so.
This one should be paid, I would ignore this one if I am going thru other applications, if the salary is good I'd mention it before bringing up any 4-hours technical assignment.
The confrontational and accusatory tone when I state my desired range and say that I got paid similar with companies in my own country (when questioned about it) when comparing apples to apples (contracting), the gaslighting and excuses of why I should get paid less than I have got with local and international companies in the past. The reasons for such aggression normally is the frustration since they have a GOOD monetary incentive to seal the deal, but does not excuse the behavior for sure. Even telemarketers are nicer than recruiters at this point.
I do attribute this to the rise in remote work. I used to rarely get contracted by a recruiter before C19 and when in the rare occasion when it happened it had a good chance of getting something out of it, now it is companies looking for super cheap labor instead of just trying to find talent.
Also I feel like developers are a bit too self-centered.
I am more likely to believe celebrity gossip than AI news articles.
I believe that often than not people do the right thing, if it something done in mass there is a reason for it and it is just hard to pin point the reason.
There can be social reasons for it, also we don't know if there is some implicit higher chances of getting abducted for kids who get drove to school. Like them walking to school will increase the chance of them abducted.
So that's just fortunate for you. California has to solve its problems, it is the hand that it was dealt to them and they have to make the best out of it.
If it is not suitable for you to live there, it is fine.
By anyway, punishing growth should be valid, IT workers are doing well, the homeless that are to be helped is not like they gonna be hired as software devs at PayPal.
Taxes are nothing but a reallocation of resources and it always has been, and it is the price you pay for living in a society, and it is worth it, you'd rather have the addicted and mentally ill outside of streets one day you might get stabbed by one of them.
Also it is not just about taxes, the gov need to take some drastic measures too.
