I might try Google's home option again but I'm not a fan of giving Google second chances since they seem to care even less about committing to products.

Some counter espionage program? Maybe spies use Starlink instead of radios these days.
> Its limited four-theater release in New York and Los Angeles on October 9 had a respectable opening weekend gross—each screen earning an average of $17,225 for a $68,900 total. Expanding to more theaters in more markets was the logical next step, which its distributor Bleeker Street Films did last Friday, raising the number of screens to 472. But Musk’s wider-debut was an unmitigated flop, netting a paltry $614 per screen, for an abysmal second weekend total of $290,000. Box Office Mojo has the film’s to-date total up to $571,902, as of this article’s publication.

The article also questions this showbiz411 article
> Showbiz411’s post claims the doc is “gone from almost every theater in America,” save “one or two odd places that didn’t get the memo.” It attempts to substantiate its case by saying the list of theaters on Bleeker Street’s website for Musk showtimes “shows that all 472 were listed as playing the movie today. But no more.” There’s no elaboration as to what that means. The only sort of receipt we’re offered is a blurry, unzoomable screenshot below of… the list of theaters showing the doc prior to the purported change.
> The blog also has an unsourced line that “online, people started commenting earlier this week that shows they’d bought tickets for were canceled without warning.” I was able to find a Reddit post backing that up. But no other outlet of good or ill repute is saying Musk’s been pulled.
that would be an interesting business to run.
That's a good way to describe it
Drive-by HN commenters always obsess about accuracy of headlines, I prefer reading the actual articles and judging it on that. I read the whole thing and it discussed some difficult open source work they are doing on Ruby in a way that kept my attention, shrug.
Best way to avoid this is having a competent congress, one that actually responds to public concerns so it's not forced upon the president. Which is always the root cause of all of this bad policy from the WH getting shut down by courts or risky incomplete policy being ignored by the courts for the greater good (like abortion rights never becoming a hard law through congress).
If history is any example we already know congress won't do much unless it involves spending money. We saw that with the republicans expanding ICE funding instead of making careful country wide immigration reforms in collaboration with state governments who are needed for proper enforcement. Most likely if/when the democrats win we'll see them fund a new flashy anti-corruption agency, which gets added on top of the other 400+ federal agencies who already have multiple overlapping responsibilities.

Meanwhile they are also rapidly going green by adopting this tech domestically since it's highly price competitive due to their manufacturing investments. They also invested heavily in Nuclear (which the government there openly welcomed).
That's over their entire lifespan. While they just made $4B in earnings in a single quarter in Q3 2026, probably $30B around in revenue for 2026... They've definitely paid far more than their subsidies back in taxes over the years.
“Drone” is well associated with flying in common language. The headline (Ukraines claim) is accurate enough.
Conspiracy posting is now sadly fully mainstream in multiple countries, especially (ironically for Meta) among the youth raised on social media, and it's exhausting reading it all them time.
When news is only consumed before any facts are established this is the end result...
The rest of the complaints are around exact term search/AI results which are notoriously inconsistent if you've ever done SEO/AEO. So not exactly the strongest evidence.
I'm not fan of Meta or their severe lack of transparency in moderation, but this stuff is so political it's basically impossible to debate on facts. Likewise Brazil's courts are notoriously political, notoriously pro-censorship of social media (including fining FB well before Trump for not deleting posts on gov demand), and your first link is a judge appointed by one of Lula's ex staff (Dilma Rousseff).
That auto-moderation of social media always has false positives like this? This was always a predictable outcome from aggressively moderating social media with algorithms. Humans only ever get involved after the fact (in this case after 90 minutes).
The only reason this is newsworthy is that the media could spin it as some sort of intentional move by humans at Meta, without evidence, because it happened to vaguely coincide with some event date. Otherwise this happens every single day if you search social media for "my account was suspended".
Which reminds me of this month's HN post about Lula's FB account getting taken down https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49864642 , which turned out to only be for a couple hours after some content post got auto-flagged, before being restored by Meta. But the HN thread was a long discussion about it being a conspiracy by the US government to conduct election interference in Brazil.
> In addition to DNA, the investigators were also able to benefit from a happy combination of circumstances since “the burglars, after abandoning in the hinterland, near the ski resort of Gréolières, the stolen vehicle that was used for the breakage, took back theirs which was, possibly in the context of another case, equipped with a police beacon,” the lawyer told AFP. The police were thus able to track the car.

I don't see much difference between a more affordable autonomous bus or van option vs a subway. The benefit will eventually be access to the tunnels more than the fact it's large and on a track. But in cities it's also incredibly expensive to build anything without a hundred stakeholders interfering so a large amount of new tunnels is probably DOA just like most high speed rail projects have been.
I'd probably prefer a second more fitness dedicated watch otherwise so that data integration was better.
