That was not from Laravel itself but from Caleb Porzio who created Livewire.
ericbarnes··on Laravel has raised a $57M Series A in partnership with Accel
This is for products from Laravel Inc., not the framework itself.
ericbarnes··on Laravel raises a $57M Series A from Accel
As someone who has been around since the early days his vision has always been great on what works and what developers like.
ericbarnes··on PlanetScale performs layoff and prioritizes profitability
"Removing sales and marketing" - That seems like an interesting decision unless those positions only existed to grow the free hobby tier.
ericbarnes··on EU tells Apple to open everything up to its rivals
> "EU regulation fosters innovation, without compromising on security and privacy," Breton told Reuters.

I had to lol at that one.

ericbarnes··on ElonJet – Account Suspended
If you own the home, then it'll be public through the county GIS. But you'd probably need to know the state/county first to find it.
ericbarnes··on Forge – A Django SaaS Framework
* Forge the Laravel server management SaaS

* Forge the Django SaaS framework

I'm sure other things use the name "Forge" but just seems odd you'd purposefully use the same one. Could also make your SEO rather difficult.

ericbarnes··on New York Times Best Seller Business Book
It seems like all modern business books, those released in the last few years, are nothing but a vomit of name drops of famous people and companies and how they do things. I’m sick of hearing about them. I know their stories.
ericbarnes··on Teachers are ready to quit rather than put their lives at risk
even if it's zero they will bring it home to parents/grandparents where it's much greater than 0.
ericbarnes··on In your code editor, dock your sidebar to the right
Thanks! I just fixed that.
ericbarnes··on Webcam, Lights, and Audio for Remote Work, Podcasting, Videos, and Streaming
It seems like you are forgetting freedom means different things to different people. Look at the world outside your lens.

For me, freedom is not driving in rush hour and being home when my kids get home from school. Having a dedicated setup makes complete sense.

ericbarnes··on Ask HN: Do you still use RSS?
Yes, reading all my subscriptions through Feedbin is part of my morning routine. So much less stressful than trying to read a social media feed with everyone sharing about whatever outrage of the day is.
ericbarnes··on Buffer: Bug in Login System
Same, but for three accounts so far. :eyes:
ericbarnes··on BitBounce – Email paywall that lets you get paid to receive marketing emails
I sometimes work on the tech support side and I love when people email in, I respond with the answer, only to have my email come back with BitBounce. The really great part is when they are all upset that they haven't received an answer.
ericbarnes··on Minecraft sales top 100M
My kids and I play the stock iOS version all the time. Could be outliers but we just play for the building aspect.
ericbarnes··on Upcoming changes in PHP 7.1
I just checked their article again and now it's completely different. What a bunch of crooks.

ericbarnes··on Laravel Valet is the next generation development environment for Mac minimalists
I love the simplicity in this. No more using Vagrant or Mamp for a local dev environment.
ericbarnes··on Developers – Have a Backup Plan
That would be an interesting course for sure. So many angles and options for it.
ericbarnes··on Laravel 5.1 with LTS is released
Because that's what the PHP community decided with PSR-2. It's an endless debate. :)
ericbarnes··on Laravel 5.1 with LTS is released
Being the first release offering LTS is fantastic news for the community.
ericbarnes··on Slack vs. Hipchat – It’s not the design
Yes my dream is one chat app to rule them all. Probably never happen and right now I have way to many chat apps for one person to reasonably manage. :)
ericbarnes··on Lumen – A micro-framework by Laravel
Well PHP still rules the hosting landscape. If your company already has php developers then switching languages may not be that easy.
ericbarnes··on Show HN: Laravel 3.1 PHP Framework. Includes awesome ORM.
Actually it is using bootstrap. Just heavily modified ;)
