he had an excessive amount of cavities and the dentist did not use any supplementation. This was painful and unnecessary for my son (we stopped using that dentist when it was clear this isn't 'normal').
i realize this is n=1. but apparently calgary [0] also realized this was having an opposite effect as well. (yes i realize this is slightly different than supplementation in the parent article but the supplementation would have saved my kid from unnecessary cavities.)

EDIT: clarity on 'supplementation'
i'm confused too, but ty parent for making me aware of vision zero.
i agree with you on this - it seems that openai hallucinates reality as much as their products do :-/
now, when the mega-corporations do it, it is 'just the cost of doing business'.
in both cases, the mega-corporations win because...they have the most money. law, and certainly justice, is not for the poor. at least not in america.
are profits spiralling downward? are these businesses, overall, making less profit? because of remote workers?
or is it closer to the truth to say that no amount of profit - or asserting authority over workers - is ever enough and since companies are in a position of power to squeeze blood from a stone, they will?
you can't be neutral on a moving train.
if you think it is bad now, and this will 'blow over,' history is there to prove you wrong.
until this country gets serious about this stuff - and don't hold your breath on that - this is the absolute acceptable norm.
despite living here, privacy to me is important. if i were this woman, i'd not let it go at all - don't give these scumbag companies agency to do what they want with impunity.
things that lack empathy: corporations, machines, AI, psychopaths things that are problematic to society: corporations, machines, AI, psychopaths
yet another reason to ensure footage looks like 'nothing terrible happened to these people' as expertly trained cop uses a weapon of war against civilians.
also the GOP: "not those rights! only the rights we want to share"
to me, in general the vibe of a given discord is similar to the general vibe of that topic (i.e some games have terrible, vitriolic cesspools for communities and those discords reflect that. other things, such as one of the rust ones i'm on, reflects that community's vibe which is a lot more wholesome imo).
"We're always looking for ways to improve our customer service experience."
in no universe is putting a mandatory 15min wait on a customer calling for help "improve [our] customer service experience" and if they think it actually does, that person should be summarily terminated from their position for being this stupid.
"We're always looking for ways to skirt customer service needs like the big boys at google, et. al., and to maximize our bottom line" is the real translation i guess.
i'm beyond sick and tired of these large corpos arguing 'rules for thee but not for me.' unfortunately, in this country with no meaningful legislation around privacy or really, anything digital, it's a game of 'who has the slickest lawyers to pull one over on the judge/jury' it would seem.
why?
i'm quite partial to the ESS sabre series of DACs at this point personally.
what exactly are you commenting 'not like that' about? or are you (e.g.,) a federal contractor yourself?
> All companies care about safety
is naive at best.
yes, all companies care about safety...after profits
we've structured corporations that this is the main driver, full stop.
as an example, earlier in my career i worked in aviation test equipment. for commercial and govt't agencies. let's just say i avoid flying anywhere at all costs now if i can. why? because, as always, safety is secondary to profits (and most of the time, you hope it is secondary and not ternary or worse). and this was in a 'highly regulated' industry.
by that same logic, shouldn't we then ban ig/facebook/threads/twitter/etc.? but since its our propaganda, we can classify as 'news' or some other thing?
i very much get what you're saying in principle (re: CCP); however, i don't see the difference in potentially, negatively affecting children's brains.
EDIT: corrected word
