hugg··on Don't Bother with Vibe Coding
i think some of the results on the linkedin page are because 'domu' is a polish word (genitive of 'dom' (house, home))
hugg··on Ilya Sutskever to leave OpenAI

hugg··on 100 Years Ago, IBM Was Born
yeah, germany declared war first, but the US also declared war on germany
hugg··on Quitting the full-time poker scene
It's a common term in online video gaming as well
hugg··on Starship will attempt a launch this Friday
Yeah I mean when you let him directly get involved with something, we get the Cybertruck, which I believe is going to be a huge failure (but we'll see).

To me it seems like he's just hyping up things that are never going to happen while a lot of the engineers and designers actually focus on the things that make money.

Can't say much about SpaceX though

hugg··on Tell HN: Twitter switched temporarily to rate limited mode
Reducing the amount of time spent on the app will surely make advertisers happy!
hugg··on Twitter temporarily restricts tweets users can see, Elon Musk announces
Great, I wasn't even able to see the replies of the tweet
hugg··on Elon Musk announces new daily Twitter reading limits
Funny, I wasn't even able to view the replies to the tweet.
hugg··on Ask HN: Is it just me or GPT-4's quality has significantly deteriorated lately?
Yes, I noticed this too, I fed it some HTML with tailwind classes and told it to just list all the tailwind classes that we use and then the CSS behind those classes.. it just hallucinated all(!) the items in the list (and just gave me a list of 10 seemingly random classes). And then when I did asked something else about the code it had forgotten I had ever pasted anything in the conversation. Very weird.
hugg··on Did the Music Business Just Kill the Vinyl Revival?
One major thing for me as well is that Vinyl doesn't really degrade the same way as a CD or LaserDisc eventually will
hugg··on Show HN: Embed a snow effect on your website
Nice! I however opted for just downloading the source and referencing it in my project directly, don't trust that link.
hugg··on TikTok’s greatest asset isn’t its algorithm, it’s your phone
I think it's genius that they allow people to download the videos to their phone - spreading the video on discord etc and other mediums drawing people to tiktok if they want to see more
hugg··on Ask HN: How do I learn real-world COBOL?
Yeah, this is what I learned too from working at a big government pension office
hugg··on I quit the tech industry (2015)
Sorry, did I offend you or something?
hugg··on I quit the tech industry (2015)
Can't really think of any. But not saying being selfish is wrong either. There is a lot of things we do that are selfish.
hugg··on I quit the tech industry (2015)
You don't know me

hugg··on I quit the tech industry (2015)
I mean most people (like you) seem to justify having kids in a selfish way (self-growth, experiences).

As someone who doesn't want my own kids (but like kids and spend time with them), I feel no need to have my own

hugg··on I quit the tech industry (2015)
You must've missed the controversy a few years ago then. There's more to it than that
hugg··on CTemplar Is Shutting Down
Any speculations as to why? Can't find anything
hugg··on Finland will seek NATO membership immediately
They've shown their true colors and played their hand. They're significantly weaker now and will be for many years to come
hugg··on Finland will seek NATO membership immediately
And it still seems realistic to you they will somehow invade Sweden by land and do these things?
hugg··on Finland will seek NATO membership immediately
I hope not. To me it seems very unnecessary (please hear me out), first of all, it seems to be the common idea that Russia is losing the war, has a weak military, cannot invade another country successfully, but at the same time, we should be afraid of them? I've heard the argument that it's the nukes that we should be afraid of, but does joining NATO really mean that they will surely not use them? I also assume that if they did use the nukes, they would target NATO countries anyway.

Don't get me wrong I do not support the war started by Russia AT ALL

hugg··on Airbnb’s design to live and work anywhere
Our company (500+ employees) "tried" this, meaning we announced it and then it turned out it was legal hell and it was silently abandoned
hugg··on Why companies move off Heroku (besides the cost)
we're migrating to something called cloudflare pages, but i'm not involved in that
hugg··on Ask HN: Anyone getting their items removed for no reason from FB Marketplace?
I once tried to sell a print in a frame, but the print was depicting a tiger.. so FB removed it for trying to sell animals.. Appeal also failed
hugg··on DRM says no water for you
But why limit water
hugg··on The impossible dream of the nuclear-powered 1958 Ford Nucleon
They didn't. They just made a model
hugg··on The impossible dream of the nuclear-powered 1958 Ford Nucleon
Not sure this is an example a company thinking wild.. I mean all they did was create a model of how something could _look_.
hugg··on Äike – First e-scooter developed and assembled in Europe
I would love a version without the security system. Personally I don't need it.

Also I would like to know how easy it is to change the tires. I had a Xiaomi scooter, which got a flat on the front wheel. Unfortunately trying to change that tire proved itself so hard that I in the end scrapped it.
