jarquesp··on Show HN: HTML/CSS iOS7 pre-loader
Original Dribbble shot by Mantas Bačiuška: http://dribbble.com/shots/1137678-Preloader-iOS-7-Style-GIF
jarquesp··on Short instructional videos from Instagram
At the moment is kind of a "chicken and the egg" thing. I need to have people know about the hashtag and use it. There are a few "instructions" and "diy" tags out there but neither are used what I was looking at.

Any suggested tags, or better yet how to get people to use this tag would be appreciated.

jarquesp··on Show HN: Drib, a nicer way to browse Dribbble's popular shots
Thanks! Agreed, a few friends requested endless scrolling too.
jarquesp··on Show HN: Geoground, get a map image based on user's IP
Blue image means either IP didn't translate to city, or city didn't translate to a static mappable image.
jarquesp··on Show HN: Geoground, get a map image based on user's IP
I recently started working on a small app that I wanted to look slightly personalized per user by showing a faded image of their city as a background.

I couldn't find a service that did this for me, so I made a stupidly simple one. Simply use http://g.jarqu.es/IP and it'll return an image of the city based on the IP address.

jarquesp··on Jass, simple CSS diagnostics
At the moment it's pretty minimal, but does what I wanted it to do (tell me the number of rules and duplicates.)

I started this to help with IE7 debugging, since IE7 and other IE browsers have rule limits. I plan to add some more features in the future, but wanted to get some feedback and ideas.

jarquesp··on Steam loses user database
Same here, I haven't gotten any email from Steam.

Luckily I also don't have my CC number on my account since I use PayPal. I also enabled authentication via email a while ago so it sends me a code to log in.

I guess it's a good idea to change your password and check CC statements either way.

Interesting, I will look into this.

Thanks for trying it out!

Hm, the top bar should not extend down to be underneath the first headline so that might be a bug. Mind taking a screenshot for me?

And I almost completely forgot about the search box, will fix it. Thanks.

jarquesp··on Flux: Better Lighting for Your Mac
My co-workers swear by Flux, mainly because they only code. But as the designer in the team, I'd have to disable it every time I'm working on a design.

I've been thinking about changing the up arrow. Will play around with it.

Also, I just noticed that text within code is terrible.

I ran into a few limitations when using Stylish (didn't try Greasemonkey).

This extension uses a JavaScript to re-align some elements, change classes etc. It's not only aesthetic changes, at least won't be in the next few updates.

A settings menu is on my todo list. An easy way for you to customize the look and feel, fonts, colors etc.

It's definitely an on-going thing. Over the past week I've gotten feedback and kept working on it, changing things here and there. I finally decided that it's at a good enough spot to post on Hacker News and get even more feedback.

It's been a 50/50 hit on whether or not to use a sans-serif or serif typeface. At least that's the biggest type of feedback I've gotten thus far.

But yes, I'd love feedback on this.
