Keeping it simple. Codex and Claude on my Mac. CLI and MCP/Connectores, File Reader and Browser are all built in. And they are both getting better everyday.
Why is it so hard for a decent PM, Designer, and Eng team to build out a better version of Antigravtity with an equivalent web interface for general chat? I don't get it.
This. There is amazing art everywhere right now but somehow it's all slop. Nothing but anecdotes. Meanwhile some friends are in a bedroom studio as we speak creating Aja.
Anyone with an IQ over 110 can make a commercial grade grade site these days if they are generally curious and can ask good questions. Opus 5.5 + Cloudflare + Supabase/Neon/etc. will get you to thousands of users no problem. By the time enterprise scale becomes a problem, Opus 6.5 will solve it.
Sounds like a pedestrian view of attack vectors. Putting a DMZ around an agent essentially takes away its hands. With that said, I do agree there are plenty of measures that can be taken to lock these things down.
It is mind boggling how difficult it is. I should be able to go to some well known URL, e.g. gemini.com and have the same experience I have on claude.ai or chatgpt.com. I can't wrap my head around why they are over complicating this. And it should largely feel this same as when I install 'Anti Gravity' which is just a crazy bad name. Why isn't it called Gemini Desktop?
As someone who is building one of these referred to systems in a major vertical in the Fortune 500, these LLMs are very much being used to eat major legacy systems and processes. There are still plenty of obstacles to overcome but the number of AI governance and steering groups that I have been apart of are indicative of what's happening in a major industry.
This is like saying food is shittier today because there are now more restaurants. No, food has never been better, there are just a ton of shitty restaurants.
What exactly looks bad about it? These models have been trained on high converting UX patterns. They are definitely homogenous but I am not sure they look bad.
Arts and Crafts Movement 2.0. Bring back handcrafting starting with woodworking, pottery and oil painting. And only objects that cannot currently be made by robots, e.g. 3d printing or print illustrations.
What emerged for me as of late, at least with Opus 5.5, is creating web interfaces as aids during development. I recently had to dial in some audio mixes using ElevenLabs audio and do some complex audio cropping and concatenation. As a interim step Opus built a website that allowed me to compare versions based on different rule sets and then really dial in the version that we decided to ship. That then led to 'us' landing on the right algorithm to build out the audio files.
In a alternative universe, a very wealthy person starts a not for profit news agency and gives zero f's how many eyeballs it gets. Hires an army of world class journalists, investigators, and producers to churn out high quality, vetted, in depth content. Does this exist?
Seems to me we need tooling to do automatic offensive security as soon as a new frontier model comes out, with quickly turned around patches using the same frontier model. Rinse and repeat. Virtuous agentic security loop.
Amazing. Can they now go hire some really good information architects and designers and come up with a cohesive user experience please. They have the right to win here and if they can give me something that feels like Codex / Claude desktop I am sold.
