jkresner··on User Analytics as Your Product Grows
Serious, analytics is a sensitive topic for me, because I've invested weeks into these tools and many of them have not grown as we've become more intelligent. I'm totally jaded from the Mixpanel API and partially jaded from Segment.io too... I feel like most folks who take their data serious go for their own solutions.

jkresner··on Why I pitched barefoot at Demo Day, and tips for being relaxed on stage
Yes I had a lot of trouble having the slightest clue what you were talking about.
jkresner··on Why I pitched barefoot at Demo Day, and tips for being relaxed on stage
Yes the point is, we take risk if we think it makes us execute better. If you're an investor who appreciates that culture you'll gravitate to our company. If you're traditional and prefer to be proper all the time, you'll be turned off. That was the opportunity we took, to help our investors decide if they like it or not before even reaching out to us to find out more.

Ok - reposted cheers.

Thanks for pointing out this should be "www" instead of "wwww". Hopefully a moderator can fix it. It seems locked.

jkresner··on Though Its Network Of Mentors, HackHands Offers Live Help for New Programmers
To give you an idea of response times, here's a live AirPair going on now from someone that saw the hackhands post this morning and followed through to get Rails help with AirPair:

jkresner··on Though Its Network Of Mentors, HackHands Offers Live Help for New Programmers
I believe most people start ideas because they feel the pain and think they can solve it.

Whilst it's yet to be seen how big the monetizable market for this concept is... the pain people experience is all over the world everyday.

jkresner··on Though Its Network Of Mentors, HackHands Offers Live Help for New Programmers
IRC is a different use case. There are no gaurantees that your needs will be addressed. Help through IM had less benefits for "learning". Also IRC particularly shines for niche frameworks where the knowledge is limited to a few that really want to share it into a support community. But for something like Rails, you're better off following tutorials and blogs. But then you can get overwhelmed and connect the dots wrong. So guidance through pairing can fast track learning on time and resource sensitive projects.

Welcome to our space! This looks very similar to AirPair.com (my startup), Wizpert, Codementor, Sudonow.com, anyfu.com, googleHelpouts, onscreenexpert.com

Would love to know how you guys differentiate?

In case you're customer that needs help, if you don't want to wait through the hackhands private beta and request an invite, you can get help in the next hour like hundreds of other folks that have been doing this for a year now:

If you need rails specifically (seem hackhands only support rails right now?). Have a look through some of our experts:

There are benefits to be had by BOTH. Pairing 100% of the time works well for Pivotal and their clients. At AirPair we mix and match for appropriate tasks internally. Externally for our customers, we use it as the ultimate format of knowledge share and training.

Benefits of solo: - Creative - Code faster (in terms of lines, no necessarily quality) - Get to do things they way you like

Benefits of pairing - Instant code review and double vetted architecture decisions - Avoid distractions (like email/social media) as you can't be rude to your pair - Getting accelerated knowledge infusion on both software tricks and domain of the application
