Makes me trust this info even more than before: https://drellie.com/books-2/. She actually wrote down what her patients with good teeth were doing, what a novel concept!
I don't think you need to make it DLE exclusive. My dog gets fungal infections on his nose and this would probably help. Although TBH I haven't gone looking for solutions.
There certainly is cleverness that is detrimental/too clever, but there's also cleverness that genuinely solves the problem better. And I'd agree that its frowned upon for as its not the status quo, unfortunately... Doesn't use the latest hot new thing or whatever.
I was wanting something similar to see the fall leaves in the mountains of NC. I wanted to pick roads at the appropriate elevation, where they are in peak, but google maps isn't really geared for that.
I don't think social media is inherently bad. For me, the measure is whether I'm wallowing in consuming rather than doing. Although, yes, it's easy to get lost in consuming, doing takes much more intent/attention.
Yes. The resulting LLM is much easier to find information than ever before. To me, that's an improvement on the source data, much like the hitchhiker's guide to the universe. If it results in breakthroughs especially in health, steal away baby.
I think that's generally true. However, I recall from college more than one backpack company would give you lifetime warranties. They realized that at like $30 (at the time), they don't mind sending you another one if you bothered to remember to do it as it probably costs them like $4 to make.
When Newman and his friend A.E. Hotchner launched the company in 1982, it started entirely as a joke. They were mixing salad dressing in a barn using a canoe paddle, bottling it in old wine jars to give to friends for Christmas. Once they decided to sell it, Newman felt it would be "tacky" to profit off his own face and celebrity status. Instead, he decided to lean into what he called "shameless exploitation for the common good"
It doesn't seem they address the quality of the final products, just how the companies are run. Anecdotally, I know tons of nurses wear Hoka shoes and act like they are to die for, but yet Hoka is on the avoid list. It would be more interesting rather than some vague articles about the brand to actually compare reviews before / after or how they match up against Consumer Reports --- a much more valuable resource in my mind.
It really pisses me off there are used car lots that obviously prey on the poor. I asked for their cash price and they wouldn't give me one, or it was ridiculously priced. They just want for people to pay off a debt and all the interest that goes with it.
True, recently Rachel Ray sold her dog food brand. I didn't know until my dog started having digestion issues with it. That's how I found out it had been sold and other dogs were also having issues. Apparently buyer cheapened the recipe. At least we have the internet to quickly get the word out that it isn't what it used to be.
Pretty sure they have a "best" (top of the list) and a "best value" IIRC. So you are interested in the best, but even it is often not the most expensive. OK, i didn't do any statistics, but that seemed to be typical.
I think 10x is quite rare. Quality ends up actually curtailing costs to some degree (eg. fewer returns, cheaper marketing - word of mouth). Buy a Weber grill, I had 2 grills before my Weber that lasted 3 seasons between them. I bought the Weber at about 2.2x the cost of the bargain grills and 17 YEARS later it's still going strong, built like a tank. Saved a lot not buying more cheapo grills.

I didn't find the original R.R. particularly funny like the other Looney characters, I was more drawn in by the cleverness or "what is going to happen next?".
The Looney Toons Show from 2011 - I thought the same about role changes, but the show is an absolute gem, at least the second season when they got the characters to gel.
It's now like coding using the socratic method. Knowing the right questions is now the hard part. And you need to know the context to ask the right questions. Yes, I'm not typing in as much code or reading as much code directly, but still figuring out how to produce a good solution.
