Why wouldn’t it? The closure leads to price increases which leads to inflation which leads to non-dollar assets (ie stocks going up in value)
Second from a US perspective the strait matters the least it has since world war 2. If the price stays high a bunch of fracking will come back online.
Either: 1) they are incorrect following the law or 2) they are correctly following the law And nobody can tell with 100% certainty either without going to court because law isn’t deterministic.
If it is 1 Amazon could be either: a) incompetently not considering your situation individually and will roll over when it gets escalated b) maliciously offer low and intending to fight it
Both Canada and EU have strong labour laws so probably worth fighting it even if you lose the 1 month
* For markdown I prefer the synatx highlighting and scrollbars that show up on github to the giant blobs plain text gives you.
* I rarely want to attach binary files while I often find myself embedding inline images to illustrate a point
* I use cat test | gist -c -f test.txt -d "Output from failure" (it puts the gist link in my clipboard).

php > var_export(preg_match("/\d/u", "۳"));It's more then an oligopoly, there's a government mandates to provide equal service to the north that also drives up prices.
Although I obviously have a biases sample but everyone I know uses the shell version of both. The people I know who use the GUI use other editors.
What about implicit and explicitly guaranteeing higher risk mortgage through Fannie Mae and bank bail outs? By taking on some of the risks the government lowers costs which increases the number of people in the housing market increase price.
>Following their mission to meet federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) housing goals, GSEs such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the Federal Home Loan Banks (FHLBanks) have striven to improve home ownership of low and middle income families, underserved areas, and generally through special affordable methods such as "the ability to obtain a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage with a low down payment http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fannie_Mae
Standardize test has nothing to do with measuring individual students or individual teachers. It's a method for measure large scale changes. For example does all day kindergarten lead to student being better educated? Thanks to standardized testing in Ontario it can be measured whether or not students improve with all day kindergarten. You can argue for better test and you can argue for better application of the results of tests but there is no argument against benchmarking.
Without a benchmark you're just shooting blind. People who are against standardized testing are the Jenny McCarthy of education. They think they can just tell when an education method is effective without measuring it
And second I wish the author wouldn't try to ram his point about tax down. He's looking back at his life and saying taxes gave me a leg up and ignoring the places where low taxes and regulation did the same (the private school, AOL).
Nobody who is libertarian argues that there should be charity or we shouldn't care for our fellow person (well nearly nobody, I'm sure their are some mean spirited people out there). The point is how efficient we do it.
He's looking down the one path that happened to him but what if instead of having a military when he was young there was just lower taxes and better support for mothers would society be better off? What if instead of Pell grants there was better primary schools? What if we gave Bill Gates more money to try and make the world a better place? What if lower taxes made food cheaper so that he wouldn't have to be fed through the schools lunch program?
My apologizes you did your fact checking.
> Being a minority can be a graduate level course on the extent and impact of racism. In America, most blacks and hispanics have had ample time to study up, sadly. And if you're from anywhere in the vicinity of the Middle East, god help you.
That could all be correct however the person would still lack perspective and sample size. Without studying it on a large scale you could never be sure.
You also ignored my question of what is the goal in the end. My personal end goal is to have no one look at a person and label/judge them based on characteristic without facts to back it up and I think affirmative action takes us away from that.
The opposite is also true: "Absent significant study, it is absolutely not the place of someone who is a member of the racial minority to declare the extent or impact of racism." Why not say simply it is not the place of someone to declare the extent or impact of racism without study?
Also I believe you are assuming the race of the parent. For all you know they could be a member of a racial minority.
More to the point what is our goal WRT racism? To eliminate associating traits with a person purely based on their race that are not backed up by a correlation? If that's the case affirmative actively works against that goal.
If you can't measure it there is no way to tell whether it's getting better.
But is this how the legal system should work? The legal system has obvious flaws. At the very least it needs to move away from duelling expert witnesses to a more scientific method based approach.
