jryle70··on The 'Astra can read and write weights to improve Qwen' post is misleading
Your resume is an ad as well. Doesn't mean that it is incorrect.
jryle70··on AI is forcing us to pay off 40 years of technical debt
> Of course no vulnerability has ever been found by a human or by fuzzing.

Who do you shill for? because that sounds like someone who want to fuel the flamewar.

jryle70··on AI is forcing us to pay off 40 years of technical debt
Which can also then be fixed faster?
jryle70··on Show HN: Subvocal – Talk to your computer without making noise
Skepticism about shipping date is normal, especially for something novel and hard. Calling people fraud without evidence is just bad.
jryle70··on Show HN: Subvocal – Talk to your computer without making noise
Are you saying you've never texted happy birthday to anyone? or people doing so should be ashamed? or it's ok to type the message on the phone but not saying it?
jryle70··on Show HN: HackerBooks – HackerTube, but for books mentioned on HN
Good idea. Maybe focus on posts that stay on the topic.
jryle70··on Brazilian Court Sanctions Lawyers for Prompt Injection in Court Filing
That isn't true. The court only upholds the laws. Who make the laws?

What is purely fact? If instead of "Pure drinking from the nature", vendors market their products with one of these:

- Pure hydration, straight from the heart of pristine nature

- Crisp, untouched refreshment in every drop

- Silky refreshment straight from the source

- Clean, effortless hydration as nature intended

- Unfiltered clarity from mountain to bottle

- Naturally balanced, untouched by process

- Purity preserved from subterranean springs

Can you say they aren't purely fact? How do you prove it? Can you deny that marketing?

(I of course asked LLM for those alternatives)

jryle70··on Do the math: How we took over ChatGPT accounts
Were they not right? Just like money giving you some runway but will run out, the exposure is still only a leveler, it's still up to you to take advantage of it.

Also, they were not OpenAI.

jryle70··on Do the math: How we took over ChatGPT accounts

jryle70··on What we know so far about Spain train crash
False positive? How did you know?
jryle70··on Regent's Ground-Effect Vehicle Reimagines Coastal Travel

People avoid voice conversation because they don't want to deal with human live interaction. Most people don't mind talking to themselves, as sad as it sounds. I'm guilty as well.

As someone who needs glasses to use computer, it's really convenient to be able to use voice for interaction, also while driving or at home in the kitchen. I'm waiting for good smart glasses as well, since I don't want to have to keep taking my glasses out just to check any piece of information -- menu, price tag, train time, and so on.

jryle70··on Job loss and cortisone mania
> I think if you go far enough into the past, the "jobs" were fun and enjoyable

Which jobs specifically were fun and enjoyable and during which period? What is the evidence for that?

jryle70··on The Robot I Didn't Expect to Build
Automate forklift? like a conveyor?
jryle70··on The Robot I Didn't Expect to Build
Successful businesses understand keeping employees happy is also good for business. It isn't either-or.

> Peolpe work not to fill their otherwise empty existence, but in order to earn money

Unless they are desperate, they'd still prefer less dull jobs. Desperate employees are disaster in the waiting.

> Dullness could be solved by making the tasks less dull

That's the recipe for unsafe working environments.

jryle70··on Will it be a golden age or a dark age for mathematics (and science)?
You've been here long enough, I'm sure you could remember all of the posts complaining about the quality of coding bootcamps, that it was too easy for outsiders to learn software development. Is that your idea of gatekeeping?
jryle70··on Hello Toronto – Waymo Is En Route
> When Number of Jobs automated approaches 100% then what?

When was that? Or hypothetical? Why would that be and not that new jobs being created?

jryle70··on Linus Torvalds's first LLM-assisted patch series
I personally think video games / fashion / entertainment have much higher societal / environmental concern than AI. But it isn't for me to judge. You and many other people enjoy them. I'm in the minority. So are you or am I right?

> actually we still don't want those shit datacenters, this wreckless scraping

Those are used by the useless things I mentioned above. I don't think you're showing the same outrage.

Did you buy from China? How were the workers who made those items treated? How did you get those items to where you live? Do you know how much pollution that would cause? (I do buy them, btw, I have no moral superiority).

Did you travel? Think about the cost it causes to society. Again, I love travel.

I don't have problems with you criticizing AI or your favorite targets of the day. I do have issues with fake morality, lacking of self reflection.

jryle70··on Ask HN: Are you hesitant to install vibe-coded apps?
Weren't you hesitant downloading apps pre-LLM? If you were, what is the difference?
jryle70··on I let an AI run my startup for a week
How do you know it wouldn't scale?

> For some it's also a vanity thing, where entrepreneur or startup sounds better.

That's your projection

jryle70··on I let an AI run my startup for a week
Why? if he's selling his labor, then it's self employed. Selling a product, that's a proper business.

jryle70··on Nvidia in talks to acquire US 'open' model startup Reflection AI
Huh? new tech companies have proliferated in the US the last few years. M&A is just one side of the coin. Without an exit path -- IPO, acquisition or private credits -- there is very little appetite for new businesses.

Did you know that 151 companies were founded by SpaceX's alumni? Compare to 5 they've acquired (not including XAI)

So you want to show off instead of doing it for yourself? find something harder to show off then.

I can hardly run 5km, but I was still immensely proud of myself whenever I did. It still brings me great joy even though I'm a mediocre runner at best.

jryle70··on 100+ reactions to 100+ solutions
Different people have different feeling and motivation and reasons for doing things. No doubt there are people thinking like you, but it's to early to tell how it will be for the majority.

> People still play chess and go and StarCraft

Because most people still find them enjoyable. You can't say those are less enjoyable than math. There is no universal scale for enjoyment.

> kind of like you might eat today even though you already ate yesterday

You'd die if you stop eating after yesterday's meals. That's survival.
